Stand Up 2 Cancer
Each and every one of us has been touched by cancer in one way or another. I have been directly affected too. My Father was a cancer survivor and my Mother is too, even I have personally fought a good fight. I’ve sadly lost good friends who battled against this nasty disease. Many of you have been touched by it through a friend, family member, neighbor, religious affiliation, or work . Every year I participate in the Stand Up Cancer program by bringing awareness to a great cause. Stand Up To Cancer was created to accelerate groundbreaking cancer research that will benefit patients quickly and save lives. Stand Up 2 Cancers goal is to bring together the best and the brightest in the cancer community.

I lost my father to cancer two days before my 25th birthday. I now have two beautiful children of my own, one of which has never met him. Cancer has robbed my children of an amazing grandfather. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss him. So many people I know have been affected by this dreadful disease. My heart hurts for people having to fight this nasty disease. I will continue to pray for a cure. May God be with you all….
Cancer has took many lives~my Mom included. I pray every day that they find a cure for this terrible disease.

such a sad thing to face. my dear friend lost her mom to cancer when she was in high school. now she lives her life to the fullest with her family… because she doesn’t know what tomorrow will hold for her… she is a strong, strong woman! i admire her so much!

Unfortunately, cancer touches too many lives. Both of my grandmothers died of breast cancer (my father’s mother died when he was just a child, so I never even knew her.) And a friend’s husband had colon cancer at just 35, though fortunately he survived and is in remission.

My Mother died of Breast Cancer at the age of 64 in 1996. I had mammograms every year from age 40 & in November of 2009 had a suspicious mammo. From January to April of 2010 I had a stereotatic & 2 lumpectomys & found Stage 0 breast cancer. After radiation I am cancer free. I was so fortunate that technology has come far enough that mammos are good enough to detect it……… Mammograms save lives…. I am LIVING proof!!

I can’t think of anyone I know that hasn’t been touched, somehow, by this dreaded disease.
I also know individuals close to me that have been touched by this disease. I lose my father many years ago to it, as well as my mom in law and many relatives. Many years ago I had a niece under 2 years old that contracted a serious cancer that only had 20% survival to it. A miracle happen for her with a bone marrow transplant. Today she is in her 20s and is in remission. Thank God there is miracles. One day I hope everyone has that miracle, with a cure being found.
I know so many, many people that have been touched by this disease. 18 months ago, I lost my best friend. It was a rapid cancer – one minute she was there and we were planning our next holiday together, and the next minute she was gone. Dreadful time.
I do not know if it is because I am getting older, or because the disease is spreading, but I know so many people touched by this awful disease. There are so many students in the school where I teach which now live in single parent homes because of cancer…It is devastating and the world crave good news about potential cures.
I, too, am a cancer survivor. I, too, have lost precious friends to this dreadful disease. My husband lost his first wife (of 41 years) to cancer. Last Saturday I participated in a Relay For Life raising funds for cancer research. It is a good thing to encourage one another an be vigilant in our fight!
I lost both of my parents to cancer & oddly enough both were results of not having checkups like they should so it could be caught early. With the proper attitude and drive the terrible “C” can be beat. Good subject for today my beautiful friend. Have an awesome day.
