Ribbon and Pearl Jar Craft-
I try and recycle, upcycle, repurpose and reuse whenever possible. I took a couple of very plain jars ( an olive jar and a jam jar) and added some silky ribbon and pearls for this pretty Ribbon and Pearl Jar Craft . I love the idea of using bakers twine, lace, jute, string and other goodies to cover a jar or bottle too.

These bottles are from The Bridal District I like the use of two different types of twine.
I found these twine wrapped mason jars at Notes On A Wedding
The rustic look of this jar from Simply Homemade is perfect for this lovely bloom.
Adding bits of lace made these jars from Something Turquoise ( don’t you love that name?) beautiful. Adding lace often does.
I had to add these sweet pots too by Third Floor Design!

What a wonderful idea! I usually take the label off the jars and load in the dishwasher before putting out in the recycle bin.
I think maybe I could something with some of them!

I just saw in World Market a candle wrapped in twine to give a beachy look. I want to try that! I love your ideas. I like bottles a lot. My sister in law has a kiln and melts wine bottles into cheese servers. They are so neat. My son is getting married in a few weeks and I want to save some of the bottles from the wedding and have them flattened out for a useful memory. Nice post.
Your jars are wonderful! I love all the twine you have used on them. I tend to think of old book pages, how fun to see something new I can use. Great idea!

I love them all. And, how charming for tables for a wedding reception. My cousin is planning to use something like this for her daughter’s wedding reception.
I’ve never decorated jars before but these look beautiful. I’ve always filled mine with preserves. 🙂

Those are all very pretty. I have not covered jars with anything since I was a kid. We would cover them with tiny bits of masking tape, the use brown shoe polish over the tape.When done right it would look like the jar was covered with old leather.
Yay, another use for the twine from hay bails! I have to try this.
I love those jar ideas and they are all pretty! Years ago my dad used baby food jars and glued rows of five to all sides of a thick piece of wood. This he somehow made so it could rotate… don’t ask me how. It was used to store nuts, bolts, nails, scews… I have no idea what happened to it though. Your jars brought back this memory. Thanks! Haven’t thought of that in years.

Katie, yours are very elegant. I haven’t done anything with jars, lately, but I have tons of them. I used to paint and decoupage them.
