Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
Hello friends lets make cookies!!! A new week ahead , I hope you all had a great weekend. I am happy to say I spent the weekend creating a blog makeover and new headers for clients! As promised on Friday, I am sharing my husband’s absolute favorite cookies. Oatmeal raisin cookies! What You Need
- 3 Cups oatmeal (uncooked) I use Quaker quick oats
- 1 Cup butter, unsalted and softened
- 3/4 Cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
- 1/2 Cup sugar
- 2 Eggs1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
- 1 1/2 Cups flour
- 1 tsp. Baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1 1/4 Cup raisins
- Baking sheet ( ungreased)
- Large bowl
- Electric mixer
- Cooling rack
Before You Start: Preheat oven to 350°
Lets Make It! Combine butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer on medium speed mix until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla and continue mixing. Gradually add flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt and continue mixing until well combined. Add oatmeal and mix until well combined. Remove bowl from mixer and add raisins. Using a large spoon mix well to blend raisins into dough. Drop dough by rounded tablespoon full onto un-greased cookie sheets and bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool on cookie sheet for a minute or two and then move to cooling rack.
Serves 3 Dozen
*Katies Tid Bits* try adding craisins instead of raisins also try adding a 1/2 cup of chopped nuts ( your choice)

I love oatmeal cookies and I never thought of using craisins instead of raisins (because I do not like raisin, but love craisins). Great tip!

Those look good. I’ve finished a broccoli soup, a chive batter bread and my chex mix, so I think cookies and biscotti will be on the agenda soon. yum.

Delicious! I am a big fan of oatmeal raisin cookies. My husband not so much. He prefers chocolate chip. One time I made oatmeal raisin for myself and he grabbed one and scarfed it down thinking it was chocolate chip! He was quite disappointed haha.

Oatmeal raisin was my grandfather’s favorite cookie and mine as well. I used to make him a special batch at Christmas time. I remember once while he was at Christmas at my house he kept reaching into his pants pocket and then bringing something up to his mouth to nibble on. When I ask him what it was, he said it was one of my oatmeal cookies. He had put some in his pocket! Ha
I found a great recipe for oatmeal cookies written in a church recipe cookbook that said letting the raisins sit in the eggs with a cover over them for about an hour will soften them up. It works well! 🙂
My husband will loves these cookies – oatmeal raisin are his favorite!
