  1. I hope you eventually got your spa experience! Maybe, you bought some different bath salts from the little girl. Or maybe some wrapping paper. I know you’re good with wrapping paper! 🙂

  2. Oh my, that is so funny! This house is our first to have a large tub, & I could hardly wait to have my first bubble bath in it. Funny thing about over-size tubs and older bodies, it’s hard to keep your balance while in the water and harder still to get out — forget about getting out gracefully. I seriously thought I was gonna have to reside permanently in that tub until hubby got home, getting all pruney, but I finally managed to get out safely. We have since added a slightly padded mat which really helps in my “not so gracious” manner of getting my body out of their. I’m determined that practice will make perfect….lol!

  3. Buahahahahahaha. I haven’t had a relaxing bath in a decade (I hate the well water in our house even w/the softener).

The post was great, glad to have found it this morn. 🙂

  4. I don’t believe I’ve ever had a bubble bath experience quite like that one! I give you a lot of credit for getting out of the tub to answer the ding dong…I would have let the lavender bubble bath experience take me away! LOL

  5. Sounds about right in my house, too. I don’t remember the last time I had a few minutes to myself let alone if I did not getting interrupted. I hope you get your bubble bath soon though 🙂

  6. I might have been following your blog in June 2010, Katie, but I don’t remember this anecdote. I was afraid you were going to tell us that you fell asleep in the tub and awoke to find yourself trapped in a giant mold of Jello! (LOL) Mrs. Shady has sensitive skin and has difficulty finding a bath product that doesn’t produce irritating redness. I realize that a relaxing bath would do me good now and then but it’s been months since I took one, preferring instead to hop in and out of the shower in the interest of saving time and water. Happy Tuesday to you, dear friend Katie!

  7. What a great post! Laughing out loud…although I am sorry you didn't get to enjoy a nice spa moment!

  8. OH MY! NO WAY!!! I was up with the cows and chickens again today and it's hard not to laugh when others are sleeping. I'm sorry I laughed at your expense but that was funny!

  9. I really like your blog! I'm a new author and have enjoyed this new experience. I find that it's the most difficult and most rewarding. I'm also a graphic designer and love having that creative outlet as well.
Thanks for your post! I will be back for more updates. 🙂

  13. I could picture everything..lol. My goodness it reminds me of a few of my 'relaxing bath times'..lol. Lavender is my absolutely favorite. I giggled with the 'sand paper' on the bum feel,,I do hope you were able to end up having a relaxing bath…free from sandpaper, blinded eyes and no funny bones getting banged up (which really does NOT make for fun does it).

  14. Oh… I was with you as I love warm baths until you mentioned about the burning bum.

    Funny post.

    ~hugs~

  15. Thank you so much for adding me to your watched blogs. I love this post, so funny. Once I made homemade bath salts with peppermint and red food coloring for Christmas gifts. I had some left so added more mint and got ready for an invigorating bath. The higher content of mint, first felt cool, then started burning my skin. Add more water, skin still burning along with eyes now. Add more water, still no help. I finally had to get out and felt my skin burning for quite some time. So I feel your pain…

  16. LOL. You poor thing..but It did make good blog post…I do hope you got to go back and try to take your bubble bath over again with your new purchase.:)

  17. Hahaha! That sounds like something that would happen to me. It actually reminded me of something I read once about a woman trying to wax her legs and ending up waxing herself to the bottom of the bathtub!

I'm your newest follower! I would love to see some more craft posts!

  19. Now that's what you call situational irony! I love people who can tell a great story and make me giggle. You can. It did.

I had a hunch you were going to say that you bought some!

  20. That's too ironic Katie! You poor thing…I can just imagine how you were feeling at the time. I guess the upside is that ….. what is the upside? xoxo

Hope your weekend is a lot better!

  21. Oh lordy that sounds exactly like something that would happen to me. Not any more though–we took out our tub/shower and put in a walk-in shower with one of those "rainshower" heads. No burning bum issues now!!!
