  1. I love this poem! It used to be a favorite of mine when in school and in fact I sang a version of this in the choir. I don’t know if you know who Roger Whitakker is, but he sings this song. Always loved it. I do associate red roses with love, yes. I am hoping my guy gets me flowers for V-day ;). I have to say I like variety though and don’t like getting only red roses, but every color of the rainbow. Have to switch it up every now and then! Maybe you will get a red rose for Valentine’s 🙂

  2. Yes, I do, there is nothing like a single red rose to send the message “You are the only one for me” when given to the love of your life. I really like them when they are like the one in your very nice picture, just starting to open. The single rose goes over really well when given for no particular reason, just an impulse purchase. On special occaiions a dozen long stemmed roses show others how much in love you are with your significant other.

I admire your choice of a Robert Burns’ poem on a mainly American viewed site. I grew up in England but am half Scots, so understand the words of the “Ploughman Poet” he has written some amazing pieces.

Have a Wonderful Wordy Wordless Wednesday and buy your loved one a red rose, just because you care.

  3. Roses are pretty..but they are not my favorite. =) But, I do think of Love when I see Red Roses! =)
    Lovely photo!
I hope you have a great week, and a wonderful Valentines Day!

  4. Beautiful Katherine and I do very much associate red roses with love, because my husband always buys them for me and was one of the first gifts he ever gave to me when we were first dating!! 🙂
