Today I have the extreme pleasure of sharing an elegant home tour from the beautiful state of North Carolina,courtesy of my lovely bloggy friend Shirley from Housepitality Designs. Shirley and I have been bloggy friends for quite some time and visits to her blog often feel like I am stopping over for a cup of tea . Her style and talents as a decorator spark inspiration in all who stop by her sweet blog.
Hello everyone .
My name is Shirley and I blog at Housepitality Designs. I am thrilled and honored that Katherine asked to feature me today.
I love all things home . . .
~ ~ ~ I am in constant “decorating motion” . .
So today, I thought that I would present to you, a “mini tour” of my home.
Shall we start in the room where my hubby and I spend the most time in.
The large item over the fireplace is an antique iron and wood pair of shutters . .
~ ~ ~ the dealer said it came from a villa in Italy.
The Great Room with a view of the foyer.
The Dining Room . .
~ ~ it is a casual one that overlooks the back of the house . .
~ ~ ~ ~ rather than your usual dining room towards the front of the house.
The kitchen as it was in the Fall .
A little view of the sunroom, which is in the process of a makeover.
The Master Bedroom dressed for Spring.
The Master Bath
The Guest Room.
A peek into the Guest Bath.
A glimpse into the Media Room . . a work in progress.
A cozy little sitting area . . which is in the same room as my craft area.
My “Martha Stewart” craft furniture.
And this is my hubby’s getaway . .
The back of my home last summer.
The upper porch last Spring.
The front porch last Fall.
I cannot wait till the freezing temps are over . . .
~ ~ so that I can plant flowers and dress up the porches.
And be able to use my potting bench! There is one thing you can count on in my home . . constant change!
So many changes going on in many of the rooms. I hope you enjoyed this little mini house tour of mine . . .

Shirley’s home is fabulous, did you notice all of the pineapple accents she places throughout her home? Every time I see a pineapple decoration I think of Shirley. 🙂

Love your home! Is the comforter in the master bedroom a duvet cover? If so, would you mind sharing a source for where to purchase it? If it was custom made, would you mind sharing the fabric name and source? Thank you so much.

Such a great feature of Shirley’s home! I just noticed the backs of 2 of the chairs in her sitting area have pineapples on them. I’m like you. Every time I see a pineapple now, I think of Shirley! She is the epitome of southern hospitality!

It really is a beautiful home. We had a heavy frost last night and temps are taking a nose dive. Fingers crossed my spring blossoms will make it. xo
