Hello Kathernie’s Corner readers! My name is Katie and I’m the creator and blogger at The Casual Craftlete. Thank you SO much for letting me share today, Katherine!
The Casual Craftlete is a blog about DIY/Crafts, Recipes and my Running journey. All of my projects are quick and easy. I’m a stay at home mom with a three year old, so I don’t have much time to spare. I would love for you to stop by some time and say hello.
Today I am sharing how to make this simple DIY Painted Wooden Bead Bracelet. Recently I made my daughter a burlap bunny bag for Easter. I thought she could use it as an Easter basket or purse to take with her to church. Then, I got the idea to make her a sweet little bracelet to match the bag.
- Material Used:
- Wooden beads
- Paints
- Paint brushes
- Lollipop sticks
- Ribbon
- ScissorsFirst, I started by adding rice to a container to hold the lollipop sticks in place. Then, I placed the beads on the sticks. I used three different size beads: 1 – 20 mm, 2 – 19 mm and 8 – 15 mm beads. Of course how many beads you need will be determined on what size of bracelet you make.
- I painted the largest bead in Vivid Violet, the two medium size beads in Purple Pizzazz and the eight small beads in Wild Orchid DecoArt Americana acrylic paints. You might have to add a few coats of paint until the natural wood is completely covered. Then, just let the beads dry over night. I threaded the beads onto a piece of white ribbon and tied a bow. SO easy!I also made a bag for the bracelet using a pre-made muslin bag, small triangle stamp and ink pads.

Great tip for painting the wooden beads Katie!- putting them on lollipop sticks and placing them upright in a pail of sand.
