Google Says No-
Google says no-Today I am sharing why google says no and also announcing the giveaway winner for the Spring has Sprung Giveaway. I know I don’t usually post on Wednesday because the hop starts this evening. But, every month I have a giveaway here at Katherines Corner and sometimes I also have the privilege of being part of a group giveaway. Those of you who enter my giveaways may have noticed that I do not have the follow me on google plus entry option. That is because Google Plus says NO! No to giveaways.
You can find the exact details HERE on the google plus policy section. But in a nutshell it means- “Publishers ( that would be bloggers etc.) may not promote prizes, monies, or monetary equivalents in exchange for Google+ button clicks.”
I would love for you to add me to your google plus circles ( you can click on my google icon on my right sidebar). But I will never ask you to follow me via google for a giveaway entry. Being blacklisted by google is NOT something anyone wants. Especially those of us who work so hard to keep our blogs visible. So just a gentle nudge my sweet bloggy friends to rethink your giveaway setup plans.

Did not know that about Google, thanks for the heads up! Being blacklisted by them would be the worst thing to ever happen to a blogger! haha thanks for sharing 🙂

I did not know that Google + had that stipulation! Doesn’t Facebook also have some kind of rules about giveaways too?
Hi Missy yes facebook does too. But you have more flexibility with them. They even allow you to have your giveaways right on your page. My Katherines Corner page has the giveaway right on it so you can enter while you are visiting on facebook. xo

I know Google is very restricting on this and when I have done giveaways in the past had to also not allow Google follows. Crazy, but I guess it just is the way it is.
