I have been fighting a losing battle with a head cold this week . So I started looking through some of my photos for inspiration. I found a few of my favorite pink carnation photos to share. Oh how I wish I could grow these in the garden.
I love pink carnations. Well any carnations really. My Father told me once they were the poor man’s rose.
I still have a few in a vase on our table from Valentines day. I change the water regularly and they last for ages and they smell so good!
When asked; ” what is my favorite flower?” I have trouble choosing only one. I like so many different flowers and all for different reasons. I am always drawn to the fragrant flowers. Do you have a favorite?
Next Friday I will be announcing The Cutey Giveaway.:-)

Our Bird garden is looking a bit sad right now.
A recent trip to the local nursery provided me with a wonderful way to feed our friends in the winter months ( anytime really) . So, I titled this post “For The Birds, A Craft For Our Feathered Friends” I hope you enjoy making it as much as I did.
What You Need
2 Cups bird seed
2 Packets gelatin
1 Cup water
Non stick cooking spray
Straws
Ribbon ( or string)
Scissors
Plastic mold ( soap, candy, or plastic container)
Saucepan
Before You Start: Spray the inside of the mold with non stick cooking spray
Lets Make It: In a saucepan over medium high heat combine the gelatin and the water and stir, bring to a boil and remove from heat. Add the bird seed, stir with a spoon to combine. Pour bird seed mixture into prepared mold and pat down gently. Insert a straw all the way through and snip off the excess leaving about an inch showing. Place in the refrigerator for about 3 hours. When firm remove from molds by gently pressing on the back of the mold ( it should pop out easily) Remove the straw with a gently twist and tug. Thread your ribbon through the hole and taa daa. Hang it up for your feathered friends to enjoy.
Have you Entered the Tis The Season Giveaway?
The weather here in Utah has been wacky! Yes, I said wacky! We had 80 degree temperatures the other day and then we had pouring rain and lows of 40 degrees. Now we have snow in the mountains! What? Where’s Autumn?
I have been asking this of anyone who will listen. One of my favorite seasons is missing!
I pushed forward though adding a few autumn touches throughout the house.
I started with the buffet
then the mantel
I just love my little Autumn Sprite and Angel
and the dining table too
My sweet Autumn tea set
I added a little Autumn to the windowsill in the kitchen too. Do you recognize the pitcher? CLICK HERE
then I went outside to add a little bit to the front door.
We do have a little bit of Autumn color in the yard. This little guy was warming himself in the sun
Our Mums are pretty this time of year
We are still growing plenty of bell peppers and tomatoes ( these were just rained on) they are Autumn colored
I do hope I get a chance to find some signs of Autumn soon. Some of you may remember my quest last year Click HERE
Have you decorated for the change of season?
