Today I thought I’d take you for a little walk around our yard. Things are growing, little sprouts are sprouting, and we’ve been busy planting. The weather here has been taking it’s toll on our poor plants. Lots of cold and rain and even a little snow. But we’ve still got some lovely spots of spring to share.
Lets start with the front porch. Welcome. I filled the planters and they are doing well under the protection of our front porch.
I planted a few impatiens in the pots, with a little grass, a few petunias, and potato vines. Lets look a little closer.
Our weathered porch bench is waiting for me to take my place there with a cup of tea.
A stroll down the driveway shows the phlox in full bloom.
Time to wander around to the backyard. There they are ,our wonderful veggie gardens, sprouting our summers harvest. ( I hope the neighbors put a lawn in this year 🙂 This is Sparky’s ( my husband Bob) sanctuary. I’ll keep you posted as things progress.
The little lilac bush is covered in my favorite color.
A glance downward shows some lovely daffodils, and the garden angel standing guard in the strawberries.
Hanging from our porch are some lovely petunias. My sweet Sparky buys me a hanging planter every Mothers day.
The dahlias look gorgeous! Can you believe that color? So bright. Our little frogs ( they’ve been with us for 9 years) hang out on the back patio and read a good book.
There are still plenty of things waiting for me to tackle. Look at my gloves! Our neighbors fence needs a little tlc 🙂
Well sweet friends, thank you for taking this little stroll with me. I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have.

My house doesn’t have much of a front or back porch. I miss porches. The kind you could spend hours on, throughout the day. My grandmother had a porch like that, a gathering spot, where memories were made. Thanks for sharing.

You can’t see it, but I’m smiling huge right now knowing I sparked a special memory of your Grandmother. xo

Pretty. I think the frogs on the bench are so dear.
kath1960 says
Thank you Annie, they’re looking a bit weathered but they are still a sweet reminder of a special day 9 years ago.

That is such a good idea for a post. I love looking at everyone’s houses and gardens, and yours is looking really pretty at the moment. Lovely veggies! Your porch with the weathered bench looks very inviting, I must admit. I love the little garden angel, and also the little frogs reading a book. I love little individual touches like that in a garden. I’ve got lots of statues scattered around my own garden. Thank you for the tour – it was lovely to visit!
