Pink Carnations
I have been fighting a losing battle with a head cold this week . So I started looking through some of my photos for inspiration. I found a few of my favorite pink carnation photos to share. Oh how I wish I could grow these in the garden.
I love pink carnations. Well any carnations really. My Father told me once they were the poor man’s rose.
I still have a few in a vase on our table from Valentines day. I change the water regularly and they last for ages and they smell so good!
When asked; ” what is my favorite flower?” I have trouble choosing only one. I like so many different flowers and all for different reasons. I am always drawn to the fragrant flowers. Do you have a favorite?
Next Friday I will be announcing The Cutey Giveaway.:-)
Linking to Beverly’s Pink Saturday linky party.
Thank you for sharing at Potpourri Friday! I always appreciate your participation!
I love the first two photos. The flowers are gorgeous!
Gorgeous carnations. love, love carnations…poor man’s rose or not, they have such beautiful fragrance. You are so creative Katherine:DDD
Feel better soon…colds are no fun!
So sorry about the cold, I been sick all last week and know its not fun. Get better!
I really love carnations, too. And yes, can count on affording a little bouquet even if low on funds!
Blessings,
Susie
I can never narrow it down to just one, right now I enjoying the lovely fragrances of a hyacinth that I purchased a few days ago. Thanks for sharing a lovely post 🙂
Happy Pink Saturday Katherine, The Carnations are beautiful, thanks for sharing them. Joyous Wishes, Linda
I should like carnations as they are my “birth flower” and I do…however, my favorite are hydrangeas..Hydrangeas of all colors and shape…..
Get better soon…!!!
I love fresh flowers in the house. Sorry to hear you’ve be battling a cold. Hope you feel better soon.
I hope you get feeling better!
I don’t have a favorite flower. What I love changes all the time. I don’t have many favorites of anything for the same reason. I actually prefer the less fragrant flowers. For some reason I don’t like fragrances very much.
I had no idea changing the water would help flowers last longer. I’ll try that!
Rachel
Katherine, so sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Hope it passes soon. I have heard carnations called the poor man’s rose also. I do like them, but somehow they remind me of funerals. Guess it’s because they use them alot. I have a few mini plants in my garden. Not the large variey like your pretty pictures. I love so many flowers, but i think Sweet Peas, Larkspur (Delphinums), and Fox Gloves are among my favorites.
Hugs,
Jann
I hope you are feeling better soon, Katherine. I too, love carnations and truthfully prefer them to roses. I am so sorry to have missed your giveaway. I just cannot seem to keep up with things lately. I think I need a less stressful job. 😉 Have a lovely week, my friend.
Sorry to hear you have a cold. Hope you’re feeling better soon! 🙂
I don’t have a favorite flower … okay maybe a Shasta Daisy … because I’m allergic to most of the real ones. (Sad face) But as far as appearance goes … I ALWAYS like the pink ones!
The photos are beautiful. My aunt loved carnations. I love the scent of the Freesia, I like Gerber Daisies a lot but I think I would say the Sunflower is a favorite of mine.
Carnations are always a favorite of mine. Their scent is heavenly.
Hugs,
Susan
Hope you win the battle with the cold.
Gardenias. I think they have the best fragrance. Reminds me of my 8th grade graduation in 1950. The girls all wore gardenia corsages with different colored ribbons.
I must admit…I’m not that much of a fan of carnations. I’m a rose and bird of paradise girl generally speaking. Except for crochet flowers I mean! Then it’s all the flowers of the colorful rainbow!! LOL
I don’t know that I have a favorite, I like them all!
