Okay this weeks little tid bit is that I was a vegetarian for many, many years. I didn’t eat anything that had a face. But, after several years I started having some medical issues and the Doctors said I wasn’t getting enough protein ( from the legumes, beans, etc,). Long story shot, I eat meat now. Chicken, fish, pork and the occasional red meat. We still have plenty of meatless meals though.
As long as I’m writing about vegetables . Did you know you can microwave corn on the cob while it is still in the husk. Just wet a paper towel and wrap it around the corn cob husk and all. Place it on a microwave dish and cook in the microwave for 3 minutes ( per cob). Remove it from the microwave and let it sit for a few minutes. Carefully peel back a few of the husks . Using a pot holder( or tea towel) grab the stem end and squeeze carefully ( like a tube of toothpaste) and the corn cob slides out of the husk. No silks either they stay behind in the husk.Yum.
