Happy Mothers Day 2017-
Mum aka Mummy and Mom, happy Mothers Day 2017-
Newborn- it was a cool and damp Tuesday when you brought me into the world. But there was sunshine in our room.
Toddler-You held your arms wide open as I tried to take first steps on my own. Tripping and tumbling and then scooped up by your loving arms and nudged to try again.
Little girl- I saw you wipe the tears away as you allowed a young teacher to take my hand from yours it was hard for you to let go.
Pre-teen-I was so anxious and diligent and vastly independent. But I still needed you to reassure me.
Teenager- You wrapped me in your angel wings when a teenage heart was broken.
Graduate- You stood proudly calling out my name as I walked across the stage.
Mother- My little girl came into the world dusted with ash from the nearby mountain. She grasped your finger with her whole fist wrapped tightly and I held your hand as you became a grandmother.
Grandmother-She was born on a hot August day, with heat nearing ninety. You wrapped your new great granddaughter in your arms. I was called grandma for the very first time. My hand still holding yours.
Happy Mother’s Day 2017 -to my Mummy
and to all of the Mothers and those who are like Mothers to you.
Mother’s Day is every day.
