Diy Flour Sack Towels
I was folding some flour sack towels for my shop the other day and I thought about a diy I had planned to share. Putting some pretty flowers and leaves along the edge of a four sack towel. I enjoy using my Rainbow Fabric Markers.
Flour sack towels can be used for a variety of things . I shared my most used below. Quick tip, don’t use fabric softener on your flour sack towels and they’ll be more absorbent. Okay I am prolonging the DIY flour sack towels post.
You know all of those wonderful DIY and bits of craftiness you want to do ? I have a few waiting for me too. Guess what, the stenciled flour sack towels are one of them! Did I all of a sudden find extra hours in the day to create and share this cute craft project ? No… I never finished it. That’s right I’m sharing an unfinished diy.
What you need for diy Flour Sack Towels
Print the stencils, place a stencil on top of a piece of cardboard or card stock, so the ink won’t go through and end up on your table or counter. Place the towel on top of the stencil. Using tape or books to weigh it down so it stays in place. Using permanent fabric marker trace the template onto the towel. You can iron the towel first if you prefer. You know I hate ironing so mine are wonderfully wrinkled.

What a fun idea!! I love flour sack towels!! I think they are beautiful decor, hubby hates that they aren’t absorbent so I tell him they are for looking only lol!! I think my friend and I will have to have a towel making session soon!
Flour sack towels are great for all kinds of craftiness. They do work well for cleaning mirrors and windows and leaving them streak free too. I use them for a million things. Hugs!

A friend gave me some of these that were embroidered along the edges by friends in her home country of Brazil. They do make excellent dish cloths! I love them:)
I considered embroidering them also. I would love to see the ones she made for you. They are a go to for my kitchen I always use them for veggies and cleaning mushrooms. I saw a blog post not to long ago that mentioned doubling them and using them as a diaper , when in a pinch. Lots of new uses to consider. Hugs!
