Queen of Sweden
I have a crush on the Queen, the Queen of Sweden rose! Have you seen this beautiful flower? I think it looks like a ranunculus and a peony had a baby. This beautiful flower with its tightly wound but still delicate petals is absolutely stunning. This Queen of Sweden rose from Thanksgiving Point in Utah is breathtaking. The Queen of Sweden rose was bred by David Austin, a familiar name in the garden and rose community. You can visit his website HERE.
This rose from our daughter’s garden is the most common rose I’ve seen in home gardens in our area.
It is lovely with its large bloom and petals open wide to the sun.
It’s just waiting to be picked and displayed on your dining table. Rich in color and familiar to most.
As many of you know hubby has his veggie garden and I have the flower gardens. He tends to them when the weather gets too hot for me though.
I have had terrible luck with growing roses. Roses need a lot of care, bugs love them!
So you have to be diligent in keeping them well protected or your entire bush will go the way of the aphids and earwigs…ewww
This is what has prevented me from planting roses in our gardens.
But, I am willing to try again and plant these beautiful Queen of Sweden roses in our garden.

Hello Katherine, I do have roses here in VA but they are in sad shape. As soon as it is time, I plan on pruning them back heavily in hopes they will look better next year. I think they are similar to knock-out roses but called grandiflora (?).

The Queen of Sweden is my favorite David Austin Rose… and you are right, it looks like it is bred between peonies and ranunculus – my other two favorite flowers! It smells so sweet and I love the little rippled edges! I have two bushes right now but they are in between blooms… getting ready for bloom round #2!
I love roses. Especially PINK ones! But as much as I garden, I am not particularly good with roses. I do keep trying one once in a while, especially a sweetly scented one.

The Queen of Sweden Rose is Stunning! I just Love it. I love how tight it is with alot of Petals. The color Pink is Beautiful. I will definitely consider growing these beautiful roses. Thank You For Sharing !!… . Are you familiar with a tiny l tea rose that climbs. We had one years ago at our other House. It was there when we purchased the House. We moved to another House about 12 yrs ago and I have been looking all over since and I just cannot find it any where! Thank You God Bless & Hugs Cathy
I LOVE roses, but they don’t love me enough to survive my care! My Gram used to say that I could kill a silk plant, sadly it is true. In doors or out doors all plants pretty much suffer the same fate at my hands. The lucky ones survive in spite of me, not because of me. However – you are tempting me to give it another try with this gorgeous Queen of Sweden rose. Just maybe, this time success will be within my touch. Thank-you!
