Spirited Cook Giveaway
The annual season of Giveaways continues with the Spirited Cook Giveaway. It is such a joy to have monthly giveaways for you. But it’s extra awesome during the Season of Giveaways. It is my way of saying thank you and I hope you enjoy entering them. Any cook or aspiring cook knows you need good tools for working in the kitchen. One of which is a cutting board or butcher block. If you are like me you know the importance of using quality tools in the kitchen. A solid cutting board or chopping block is a kitchen essential. Not only will it protect your countertops, but it will also make food preparation safer and easier to clean up. It’s important to use at least two different cutting boards in the kitchen to avoid cross contamination. I find a good wood cutting board or cutting block is perfect for fruits, veggies and breads.
I use a glass or another type of cutting board for meats. I can throw those it in the dishwasher or sanitize them with bleach. Wood cutting boards and blocks need warm soapy water cleanup and then they need some easy to do TLC. if it starts looking a bit dull you will need to oil it. Use food safe mineral oil and a clean cloth and you can easily revitalize a well-used cutting board with proper maintenance. If regularly oiled and maintained, your TITAN wood butcher block should last you a very long time. Your plastic cutting boards usually last 6-12 months.

Oh, my gosh, those Titan cutting boards are gorgeous! I can’t decide which type of wood is my favorite. I think maybe the maple. I never realized that you need different cutting boards for different foods nor that there are edge grain and end grain cutting boards. That technical stuff is interesting and useful in choosing a cutting board but the beauty of the different woods is what calls to me. I guess I’d like one of each of the various woods!
I enjoy lots of different types of books. I read books on personal growth, spiritual guidance, nutrition, fiction and biographies. Right now I am reading more novels than anything else. I used to read more for information, but for some reason I am enjoying novels more now. It can’t be that I’ve soaked up all the information my brain can hold! Who knows??
Guess I should have waited and combined the two comments lol. I learned that I am not properly taking care of my wood cutting boards (eeekkk) and that the Titan products are made in USA!

I try to buy everything I can made in the USA and it was great to learn that Titan cutting boards come from prime Appalachian hardwoods. There is no waste because all of the tree is used. I like that.

The books that I like to read are stories with intrigue and fun. All of these books must not have blatant sexuality in them. I do love Brandon Sanderson books, but most read teen books as I can trust them not to have smut in them.
