Comfort

My Katherines Corner online journal (aka blog) allows me to share with you and to encourage you to always be exactly who you are. I pride myself on being my authentic self. I welcome each of you with open arms and with the promise of a safe place for sharing something encouraging or inspiring to take with you when you leave. I pray you can say you found comfort and encouragement here. I find comfort in familiar friendships that always make their way to my comment section and email. I find comfort in rewarding you, my amazing bloggy friends, with giveaways every month. It is most humbling when I share my personal challenges, life and history with you and you are always there to add your smiles, support and comfort. I am truly blessed.

What comes to mind when you say the word comfort? I think of a hug from our daughter or her daily phone call at 8:30, a smile and hug from a loved one or a lick of unconditional love from our fur baby Izzy. I think of my husband and how we fit like two perfect puzzle pieces when we lay our heads down at night. I think of our grandchildren who, no matter what, always give me comfort. I think of a warm blanket, of days spent rocking my daughter ( she’s 37 now), of a bible verse, foods, comfy pajamas and I think of my corner, Katherines Corner where comfort is given and received every day.

Did you know that people, I don’t know them, just people who aren’t me or anyone I know. Yes, those people. They are wearing pajamas as “regular” clothing. Is it for comfort? Can you imagine walking into your favorite restaurant and being greeted by someone in a onesie? Or attending a a ballroom dance competition and watching someone float across the ball room floor while their Don’t Moose with Me pajama top flows behind them. Well if it gives them comfort who am I to say keep Bullwinkle at home.

Do you agree that you can find comfort in something you wear? Do you have an old pair of jeans, a thread bare tee shirt or some other piece of clothing that gives you comfort? Please share in the comments. Something soft, luxurious, practical and well comfort + able made its way to my door recently. As you know, on occasion I provide you with product reviews which will allow you to make an informed decision before you spend your hard-earned dollars. I found comfort in this unassuming simple design top aptly named, Simple Comfort, from Covered Perfectly.

Pauline, the owner of Covered Perfectly, contacted me for a review and I was not only flattered but happy to accept her request for a review of her Simple Comfort Scoop Neck top made with MicroModal®. I don’t know how the fashion bloggers do it. Their photos always look great. I tried taking my photo using my tripod, failed. Then I tried looking in a mirror with the tripod and camera tilted up, failed. Lastly and just before I was about ready to run down the street looking for someone to just take a photo of me. I stood in my bathroom (close to the rail because I wasn’t using my walking stick) and the sun was just right, and my pretty white lace towel was cascading just beautifully and well, the results are below. Before you ask, I’m not jaundice, the wall color in our bathroom gave off a subtly yellow that I didn’t know about until I uploaded the photos the next day.

We’ll discuss my 10 pounds of holiday weight, my need for spanks and my desire to lose 10 pounds next week. Isn’t this top lovely. No matter what contortion I get myself into when I take photos for Katherines Corner or my shops, the Simple Comfort top moved with me without pulling or tugging. Because I’m 5’9” I like a tunic length top. As you can see in the top center photo (sorry its blurry) right where the bottom of the top meets my bottom is just right, now say that ten times fast.
