Hey, and welcome to my little corner of Katherine’s Corner! I’m Shellie and I like to talk about a little bit of everything and fashion happens to be one of my favorite topics. Every few weeks I’ll be popping on to give some Fabulous Friday Fashion Tips.
Today, I want to talk about the denim jacket. I believe that the denim jacket is so functional that there should be one in every girl’s closet. Why…because it’s flattering and it pulls an outfit together in a snap. You can easily dress a denim jacket up or down and it adds structure and shape to any look.
Here are a couple of tips to remember when wearing a denim jacket.
Tip #1
A denim jacket is usually most flattering when the sleeves are rolled up twice. This balances out the bulky cuffs to reveal thinner wrists and it also allows for the bottom of your shirt sleeve to peek out if you are wearing long sleeves.
Tip #2
Choose a style that nips in slightly at the sides. Some styles are really boxy.
Tip #3
Wear your denim jacket over a leaner silhouette. Don’t try to stuff ruffles or heavy fabrics inside.
Tip #4
A denim jacket can add visual contrast to an outfit, so don’t be afraid to pair it with dressier fabrics.
