Retirement Cottage Blog Series Breakfast Nook
Hello friends, ever since I was a young mother I have dreamed about living in a cottage by the water. I dedicated a whole page here at Katherines Corner to lovely cottage living and cottage décor. I am starting this series because I believe in the power of prayer, manifesting, LOA and visualizing things and positivity into my life. I hope you will join me as I visualize a sweet light filled retirement cottage that looks out onto the water, with a flower garden in the front, and a cutting garden, and veggie garden in the back. It’s healthy to have dreams to focus on and to visualize into reality one day (smile).
Lets start the series with the breakfast nook.
Imagine a light filled kitchen, a breakfast nook in the corner with a view of a lake. What a blissful way to start the day, right?
Although it doesn’t exist yet, it is one of my happy places. I find comfort in thinking about the joy it will bring to have family gatherings, dinners under the stars, lazy days napping on the porch, and early morning tea seated in the breakfast nook.
Do you have a breakfast nook?
I do find myself drawn to cottage life blogs and all books and magazines featuring cottage living. Even the occasional novel with a cottage in the story will get my attention.

I have had the exact same dream since I can remember. Right down to the cut flower garden in the front and the veggie garden in the back. Mine includes a big verandah and second floor studio overlooking the water. Oh to dream! I’m looking forward to following this blog series so I can dream right along with you.

I’ve always wanted a breakfast nook like that! Before Pinterest, I used to tear photos of those kinds of nooks from magazines and dream about having one. One of the houses we almost bought when we were house hunting had a nook like that, and I’ve always regretted not buying that house a little bit! Being near the water would make it even better. My retirement dream is to live near the ocean with a gulf-front view. Or even just to live there for a few months during the winter! xo
I’m sorry you missed the opportunity to have one, if you have the room you know you can make it ( smile). Pam there is something so wonderful about being by the water. For me any water, lake, river, stream or ocean, LOL. xo
