Izzy’s Birthday
Hello friends, oh happy day, we are celebrating a very special birthday today. Our sweet boy Izzy is 11 years old today! He is such a blessing in our lives. My constant companion is currently asleep and snoring loudly (smile) he’s about 3 feet away. Of course he has no idea it’s his birthday, but we have celebrated every day since he came to us.
Izzy has been battling some health issues over the past couple of years. Sadly, just like us, they suffer from maladies associated with ageing. Of course we do all we can to make him comfortable. He has an excellent veterinarian who has been Izzy’s doctor since birth. He has always eaten very healthy food. His favorite treats are cheerios, chicken biscuits, and carrots.
For those of you who may not know, our sweet boy Izzy is the official blog dog here at Katherines Corner. His breed is Schapso, one half miniature schnauzer and one half lhasa apso. Schapso dogs don’t shed, they are fiercely loyal and have been nicknamed “a velcro dog”.
His favorite toy to play with is all about tugging ( we hold he pulls), and his favorite toy to sleep with is this cute elephant.

Aw, a belated happy birthday to sweet Izzy! He is so adorable. I saw this quote recently online (can’t remember where!) “He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.” I thought it was such a beautiful quote and so true. Senior dogs are so precious. (Well, all dogs are!)

Happy belated birthday to your precious Izzy! I’m tardy because I’m still catching up on emails. It’s so sad when we see our pets aging. I miss my two fur babies (cats) so much. It’s amazing what we do to extend their lives along the way, like expensive surgeries. My husband is the one who almost didn’t survive that surgery ~ ka ching. LOL
Thank you Allyson, I will share your belated birthday message with our sweet boy. wish I would have invested in pet medical insurance. He has had more than his fair share of operations, etc. We just love him so much we want both quality and quantity of life for him. I’m sorry your babies are no longer with you. When the worst thing happens for our Izzy. Hubby and I have agreed we will not get another dog. We have been blessed with this sweet boy of ours and I know it’ll be devastating when we have to say good bye. But for now we keep plugging away and Ka-ching is right!! Hugs

Happy birthday to your sweet pup Katherine. He’s so adorable. Such a sweet face!! Our Bailey is ten and she has cancer. She’s had two surgeries but the tumors keep popping up. Her days are numbered and we know it, but in the meantime she’s happy and comfortable. Doggies are the best. XO- MaryJo
