New Uses for Old Things 5
New Uses for Old Things-
It’s been a long time since I shared some of my new uses for old things. I would love to include your new uses for old things ideas too, please share yours in the comments section or email me directly. I will add yours to my pinterest board and to the New Uses for Old things page HERE
When is a tea towel not a tea towel?
When it is used as gift wrap! I actually thought of this a little while ago when I wanted to create a welcome to the neighborhood gift. I have this tea towel and several others available at Katherines Corner Shop, wink wink nudge nudge .
Old use, drying glassware-

A dinner invitation often means bringing a nice bottle of wine for the hostess gift. I love this attractive wine bottle carrier, I purchased at our local craft store. I bought a couple of extras and they are now keeping my rolls of ribbon stashed away. I tied a little piece of the ribbon to the outside cord so I know at a glance what color is inside.

New use ribbon holder-
Some of my very favorite people call me Grandma. Our five beautiful grandchildren ( ages 6- 17) all know they can always find a treat in the treat box at Grandma’s house. It’s easy to spoil them with chocolate and other sweet treats. But, they also know they can find plenty of healthy snacks too.
Old use domed cake plate-New use- apple keeper! You shouldn’t put any other fruit in the covered cake plate with the apples though. Apples will over ripen other fruit with their ethylene gas. However, if you want to quicken ripening of peaches and pears, put them in with the apples they will ripen quickly so keep an eye on them. You can also do this by putting a couple of apples in a brown paper bag with unripened peaches or pears. Loosely twist the opening ( top of bag) brown bag and just keep it on your counter for a couple of days.
Old use- scarf, neck wrap, hankerchief, dogs bandana. Here’s a nice tip, wet a bandana down and shape it like a ” u ” let it freeze in your fridge overnight. Place it around your neck when you are working outside in the sun. You will love this!
I recently saw a blog post where bandana’s were made into hanging party decor. Kind of like kissing balls. I checked pinterest and I was shocked that this clever party decor wasn’t there.I can’t find it anywhere! Is it yours? please let me know. I will make sure it is shared on pinterest.
This brings us to the end of this New Uses for Old Things post.
I’m always on the look out for new and creative ways you create with new uses for old things too.
You can still link and share your blog at the linky party! Maybe one of your new uses for old things.
