Before and After
Before and After-
When I take over the Christmas tree room for some photo work it looks like such a mess. But, you have to have the before so you can get to the after. I have a few little changes coming up here at Katherines Corner and I want to add a bit more Autumn color to Katherines Corner too. So I gathered all of the props I thought I would need for an Autumnal photo and filled up the front room ( we refer to it as the Christmas tree room) and I wadded in. Izzy was not far off, you can see his prop inspection on my instagram HERE. He has to smell everything that comes out of the prop bins. It’s so cute, its like an inspection that must meet his approval. We have a west facing house and the natural light is perfect in the Christmas tree room. So this is a regular occurrence at our house. I gathered my little boos ( the tiny white pumpkins) from our local farm. I set everything in place and I waited.
Waiting for the clouds to pass and allow the sunshine in. Waiting for the light is not like watching a pot of water boil or watching paint dry. Waiting for the light allows me to stop and live fully in the moment. That moment when the world is still and then when the sunlight comes in it feels like a warm hug. It brings with it rainbow prisms through our sidelights that flicker across the stairs. If you have ever wondered where the rainbow ends…its in our Christmas tree room.
This is my mess, to see it in its full blown disastrous mess you can find it on instagram. In the interest of full disclosure this was about mid way through the mess.
This is the result, I played around with it a lot and I think I made a pretty Autumn vignette that will move to my sidebar next week.

I had made a nice little fall display on my kitchen table, with no one to see it but my husband and the little girl I tutor. Until yesterday, I had to take everything apart so we could move the table and pull up the carpet. Of course that was when my friend popped in, when my house was a mess! LOL BTW, we found beautiful oak flooring under the carpet!
Lovely fall images.
Absolutely gorgeous and happy fall now to you, Katie xoxo <3
