Hello friends, did you know your favorite comfort foods (nostalgic or sentimental foods) don’t just taste yummy; they can actually lower stress level by decreasing the stress hormone called cortisol. This makes you feel calm and comfortable. My husband has a few comfort foods that also bring fond food memories. As the oldest of five children, he was often tasked with searching for food in the woods of Michigan. Morel mushrooms were always a big score! Berries of all varieties would mean a tasty dessert after their meal. His Mother made all of their bread from scratch, so gathering crab apples always meant there would be fresh jelly on top.
A few of my husband’s favorite comfort foods are probably yours too. You can find each of the recipes below.
Grab a bowl and fill it with one of these easy and delicious comfort foods!

I found this stuffed pepper soup on the pioneer woman’s website. I think it’ll qualify as a comfort food.
I look forward to seeing you back here on Thursday, for the TFT (Thursday Favorite Things) Blog hop . Maybe you’ll share one of your comfort foods. (smile)
