LHS 45th Reunion
Dear friends, happy weekend wishes! Although my health has had a setback, I still managed to do something special yesterday. It was my 45th high school reunion. I know most schools don’t have a 45th reunion, we were referring to it as a “reuniting”. It was a very casual 2 hour get together before the homecoming game. We (my hubby was with me) didn’t attend the game but I hope it was a win for our Layton Lancers!
I took some time before attending the reunion to read through the messages in my 1978 and 1979 yearbooks. I smiled while reading all of the sweet and thoughtful messages. I had tears too; we have lost so many from our class. Several of them were friends of mine. I believe it was the catalyst for the 45th reunion.
I knew it would be “nearly” impossible to recognize anyone after 45 years, and I was right. But with the help of name tags I muddled through. I was hoping to reunite with some of the people who had written in my yearbooks. And those who sparked happy memories too. So, I had them in mind when I arrived. I’m really glad three very sweet people took the time to organize it all.
I loved school! It was like my sanctuary. There was joy and laughter and I loved learning. I did well in school but I wasn’t allowed to join any clubs or participate in anything that wasn’t academic. My father was very strict. I did play Desdemona in Othello though (smile).
Have you attended any high school reunions?
I do plan to go to the 50th reunion (God willing, smile).
What a beautiful high school photo! I have gone to my 30th, 40th, and 50th two years ago. I enjoyed all of them and was glad that I had gone. Take care of yourself!
Bless your heart Pam, thank you for your sweet compliment. I’m so happy to know you enjoyed your reunions. Hugs!!
Oh, I love that you got to do this!I have not been able to attend a class reunion yet, but hoping to attend the next one. By the way, you may be one of the few people I know who has a gorgeous high school photo; I love it! Mine was not so great.
Hello Angie! Thank you, I’m happy I did it.I hope you’ll share your reunion experience with me when you are able to attend. Thank you for your sweet compliment.Hugs!!
