Autumn Arrival
Dear friends, autumn is arriving without the usual fanfare this year. The weather has begun to cool down. But sadly, the long summer and the high temperatures have muted God’s paint brush.
My hubby has been busy putting the garden to sleep before the snow falls. He fought a lot of challenges with the garden this year. The heat was a monster on his plants and the plethora of grasshoppers made it a tough fight for harvesting. But we did enjoy some wonderful veggies and herbs even though the grasshoppers hated to share.(smile)
As I write this the high today is expected to be 70F, it is a stark contrast to those areas suffering from torrential rains, hurricanes and devastating floods. Please add them all to your prayers. Mother nature can really be a meanie sometimes.
The windows are open again and the crisp morning air is a great way to start the day. I find bliss in the simplest of things. Sitting on the patio with my morning tea while Izzy wanders is one of them. The only thing missing is my hubby.
My sweet hubby is sooooo ready to retire and join me on the patio. He’s been working at his job for 38 years. But unfortunately when his company merged with another many years ago they didn’t transfer his 7 years of retirement funds, they were just gone. So he will be working longer than he should have to. He had his 65th birthday about a week ago. I’ll be 64 on the 1st of November, which means he’ll have to work another year until I can receive medicare. He truly is God sent. I am blessed to have such an amazing hubby, best friend and partner. Because, I am ready for him to retire too. (smile)
Thank you for spending your time with me today. Wishing you a day filled with autumn colors.
I am furious that your husband lost all that money. I’m assuming you have no legal recourse because I’m sure you’ve already thought about that. What businesses get away with is criminal, though.
That’s just criminal he lost all that retirement money.
We didn’t have a very hot summer this year. Certainly not as humid as usual. I still welcome the fall temperatures though.
Yes my friend, it’s very sad. We are grateful he has risen above and moved forward (smile) Happy to know your temps were tolerable. The humidity is a tough one in Florida. When I was in Saint Augustine many, many, did I say many? years ago the humidity was nearly unbearable. Enjoy your cooler temps.
Hugs!
