A Spiritual Blog Post

The recent Easter celebration of our Lord’s resurrection sparked the idea for this spiritual blog post. I hope you had a wonderful celebration of renewal and rebirth.

I have always considered myself to be a very spiritual person. I speak to God through prayer every day; I believe I am always close to God no matter where I am. I don’t have to be sitting in a pew at a specific place of worship to communicate with our Heavenly Father. I do not follow the “traditional” church every week ritual. I do believe there is a great deal of value in the fellowship of group worship. But, I think you can be spiritual without being religious. (I bet this blog will get some comments).

Is it really necessary for me to put a specific church “label” on my beliefs? I live my life in gratitude. I find my blessings in the everyday things, and I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I see miracles every day. I experience the joys and love of others and my life is enriched because of it. I accept life’s challenges with the true belief that God’s love will strengthen and guide me. I rejoice in the global experience of friendship and love, and I believe that most people are good. I believe there are angels on earth and that forgiveness, love, and kindness are a direct result of the love God places in each of us through faith.

Free will allows us the opportunity to be the best person that we can be, and to love, be loved, and make positive decisions to live our best lives. I am honored by your friendship and participation and I wish you happiness, always.

Hi, What a pleasant surprise to find a new follower. You have brightened my day. I agree we can worship the Lord any where at any time but the scripture does tell us not to forsake assembling our selves together. I am enjoying reading your fun, creative and informational blog. I am signing on as one of your followers. 🙂 See you soon. Dee

This was a well thought out post. I agree that being religious does not make you a person of faith; nor does being a person of faith make you religious. I am so grateful that my God allows me to worship Him and fellowship with Him no matter where I am.

What a well written, thoughtful post. While I am not really religious from the stand point of organized religion I consider myself a spiritual person and as such I strive constantly to make the world a better place for me having been here.

I completely agree. I am a Christian who doesn't believe God is only in the "church" (aka building). We must make our own journey the way He calls us to. It's personal, isn't it!

This yummy recipe had nearly 30,000 pins on Pinterest, Then my blog went down and the IP address was changed when they fixed it. So all pins from Katherines Corner were no longer linked and Pinterest deleted them because the pins didn't go anywhere. When you make this pie I hope you'll pin it too. I was so proud of this accomplishment. xo
