Holiday Cookie Linky Party

It’s time for the annual holiday cookie swap linky party and this year it’s an extra special day for me, because it’s my birthday too! It is official; I’m closer to 60 than I am to 50. You know I’ll be having a big piece of apple spice cake. Did you remember to set your clocks back? An extra  hour of sleep is always a welcome gift.

Update on our sweet Debi-she had her first of eight chemo treatments the other day and she was accepted into the new drug trial too. It’s very important to note that she is smiling in this photo and her bright light is shining even at this difficult time.

Every birthday leads to a self-evaluation.

All of my life I’ve looked to God for guidance, trying to recognize which lessons to learn and which burdens to carry.  I thank the Lord every day for my many blessings. Every morning when I wake up to a new day I do it with a grateful heart. I ask myself, “am I doing all I can to be of service to others? Have I provided more answers than questions? Have I been patient, a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend ?I know I am a flawed woman”. But I am a woman who is  truly blessed to have so many wonderful people to love and that love me back.
