Dog Days Of Summer and Tablescape Tour
Here I am again, tickled pink, to be part of the Late Summer Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by Chloe from Celebrate and Decorate . It is my pleasure to be among so many talented tablescaper’s. I had so much fun creating this one and I do hope it makes you smile. I think there’s just something about the phrase, the “Dog Days of Summer” that ignited my tablescaping imagination as I set off to create this whimsical display for my late summer tablescape. If you are visiting from My Thrift Store Addiction welcome and thank you for clicking through.
For the simple banner, I cut out cute dogs from gift bags and added a couple of dog bones and paw prints. I found this cute mug at the local dollar store, I added a little red to it to keep with the simple theme colors.
Our sweet fur baby Izzy’s favorite treats are spilled onto the table, plain cheerios! I started thinking about how I have a tendency to spill or sprinkle etc. things in my tablescapes. Hmmm.. could that be my tablescape ( table setting) signature?
I saw some amazing “pupcakes” at Fun Squared and gave it a try, using what I had.
No charger for this simple table, I made a paw print “placemat” using black and white felt. I had intended on sewing it, but my sewing machine was giving me fits. So I grabbed a glue stick.
“Pupcorn” can be found in the bottom of the stacked glass jar. Izzy and I share a love for plain skinny pop popcorn. It is one of the few “treats” I can enjoy.
Our sweet boy is never far from me. He is my constant companion and I love him so much! Izzy is a Schapso breed and he is 7 1/2 years young.
I created some poofy felt, fluff and pom pom poodles for the “centerpiece” .
The sweet sign was a gift from our daughter. Such a true message for those of us with four-legged fur babies.

Katherine, You may have the most original late summer tablescape theme. Such cute details and you are so creative. Your puppy is a great addition. Love every little element.
Ha!!! I had to laugh when I realized that the dog ears are Oreos!! Too cute! I like your placemat as well. My dog is a bit bigger- she is about 120lbs – half St.Bernard/golden retriever, so I love the sign, we have plenty of paw prints!
Katherine, I commented last Friday but it never showed up. Your tablescape is such a cute and fun idea in honor of Izzy. The banner, mug, paw print placemat are just perfect for your theme sweet friend. The cupcakes are adorable. You did a fabulous job crafting your theme! It is always a pleasure to blog hop with you!

What a fun tablescape in honor of your fur baby. The banner, the paw print placemat, and cupcake are adorable. It is a joy to blog hop with you Katherine!
How fun Katherine. We love dogs. Our sweet little Schnauzers would also love this table. The dog cutouts are the cutest and your adorable cupcakes. Such a pleasure to join you.
Adorable!
This is too “doggone” cute my friend! I love those adorable cupcakes and your poodle cut-outs! This would also be such a fun birthday party theme for any dog lover!
I enjoyed hopping with you today. I hope you enjoy the rest of summer!
Oh Katherine, your sweet table makes me want to ask to get a dog. I love all of the cute whimsy surrounding having a pet from your paw print place mat and doggie faced cupcake. Your sign really says it all about being a dog owner. They do capture your heart and become one of the family. I love the idea of including the puppies treats in the setting. Of course, you can’t forget the balls for a game of fetch. So adorably sweet.
Katherine, how wonderfully clever, unique and fun! Kudos to you for creating the cupcakes, paw print placemats and poodles on a stick in the centerpiece! You wouldn’t have a pdf to share or link to for the placemats and poodles would you? I’ve always wanted to do a Scotty dog theme table in honor of my boy, Fibber. So, I’d just tweek with Scotties on Sticks and cupcakes.
Oh Debbee, thank you and hmmm I just might…please stay tuned( wink) Hugs!
Fun and unique themes yours is one of the reasons I love these blog hops. You have my creative wheels turning, thank you. There’s no way you can look at this fun table and cute little Izzy and not smile. Awesome job Katherine!
This is so cute and clever Katherine! You really got your craft on and created so many fun details! The cupcakes are adorable! It’s all doggone “pawtastic!” I’m sure Izzy approved 🙂

How clever to take the saying about dog days of summer and your love of dogs and DIY projects and create a tablescape. I can sense the fun you had creating it.
Happy Friday!
I think it’s great that you made a tablescape for the fur baby! I love your creative license in connecting the dog days theme for late summer to your Izzy’s honor. The placemats are adorable and the pupcakes equally so. We know who’s king in that castle! 😉
How fun! All of your little details, the pom pom poodles and those cute little placemats! You and your sweet puppy together make me miss having a dog, but alas, when you travel as much as we do, it just ins’t practical! Thank you so much for joining in another hop and sharing your table styling talents!
I am a dog lover and I got so excited when I saw your tablescape. Every single detail is so cute! I adore the placemat that you made and also your darling cupcakes. The poodles in your centerpiece are so cute. My Sherman’s best friend is a standard poodle that lives down the block from us. Your Izzy is darling and I agree that a house isn’t a home without paw prints.
Katherine, Your Dog Days of Summer Table gets 4 Paws up from Lola and Sophie! Adorable details from the placemat, pup-cakes, sweet sign and centerpiece. Give Izzy a belly rub for me! Dog gone happy to be hopping with you this week.
