Thanksgiving Blog Hop
Hello friends, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays! Can you believe it’s nearly here? I love everything about Thanksgiving! Yes, everything! Amber, my sweet friend and the lovely blogger ( and TFT co-hostess) at Follow the Yellow Brick Home , has invited me to join a wonderful group of bloggers to share our posts for her We Gather Together Thanksgiving Blog Hop. I’m happy to be included, thank you, Amber. If you have hopped over from Belle Bleu Interiors thank you for hopping over and welcome to Katherines Corner. I’ve already shared my Thanksgiving table HERE. So today it is my pleasure to share some of the Thanksgiving decor in our home.
I kept things to a minimum this year, with little touches made in a minimalist style. Well… except for the turkey trio, so let’s start there.
Before I decorated the buffet I had a minimalist approach to Thanksgiving decor.
Then I changed my mind and filled it with Thanksgiving decor.
The big turkey in the middle of the trio was a birthday gift from a dear friend. Being born in November made the turkey hunt a bit easier. But, I’d been looking for a couple of years for a “big ‘ole turkey” and missed out on the sales, etc. every time. My friend knew I had tried and failed to find the elusive big turkey for the Thanksgiving table. She found this one and stashed it away for my birthday. It was a lovely surprise and such a thoughtful thing to do.
The pilgrim turkeys and the feather turkey are both handmade. They fit in quite well with this bit of Thanksgiving decor.
I have Thanksgiving decor on the kitchen windowsill. Thank you hubby for the little pumpkins. The glittery one is from our daughter ( you can enter her giveaway below). I have the Jim Shore kitchen angels out every day and I thought the simple addition of little pumpkins and baby boos made it all feel like Thanksgiving.
A quick turn to the tv room and you can see I have a simple display of Thanksgiving decor above the television.
A peek around the corner brings us to the “Christmas tree room”. Oh my, that makes our house sound so fancy, giggle. It isn’t. We live in a modest home but it has a “Bonus room”. It’s a tiny room you see when you enter our house. Some homeowners have them created into den’s, offices or piano rooms. We built this house to sell it ( 15 years ago) so we didn’t want to enclose it then the new homeowner could make that decision. Okay…that’s a whole lot of information about this room. So, yes, we put the Christmas tree in this room. So it is the Christmas tree room.
I love this little wooden pumpkin! The smooth wood and the wonderful striation throughout the wood make it so unique, and perfect for Thanksgiving decor.
I display my blue Turkish bowl on the mantle a lot. I simply added the blue pumpkin, squirrel figurine and a blue basket with a baby boo inside.
Some candles placed inside the rarely used fireplace make a lovely display this time of year.
The most important thing I want to share with you is this simple thankful photo. I used the pumpkins hubby bought me here too. Because being thankful is what Thanksgiving is all about. I mean, “thank” is already in the name, right? I know it’s a bit early but I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Please tell me about your Thanksgiving decor, do you do a lot or a little?
Please click over to Debbees Buzz she is next on the tour and then I encourage you to click on each of them and see the amazing “Thanksgiving everything” being shared on the We Gather Together Thanksgiving blog hop.
I look forward to seeing you back here on Thursday for the TFT blog hop link party. Attendance has been a bit low lately, please invite your bloggy friends to join us. I know there has been a decline in blog hops ( link party) throughout blog land so please join us here we love the variety of bloggers that share each week.

Love that handsome looking turkey! The best way to create a home you love is decorating with sentimental pieces. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Adorable vignettes. Happy Thanksgiving.

Katherine, your Thanksgiving vignettes look so pretty in your home. I love the way you styled the buffet, and the turkey looks quite handsome perched upon it. I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving!
I love this season and so nice to see your home all decorated for Thanksgiving. Love the angels in the window and love seeing your pretty home tour.
It’s always fun to see each blogger’s ‘take’ on holiday decor… and I love your self-proclaimed minimalist approach, Kat. Happy b-day, sweet friend! We just celebrated my mom’s 80th this past weekend, and we get to celebrate my grandson’s second on Thanksgiving day! So fun! Pinned!
Absolutely Lovely. Thanks for sharing
Your friend was so sweet to get that pretty big pumpkin for your birthday. He’s a beauty!
Love the oranges and blues together. Everything is perfectly set and the perfect amount of festiveness! And those Jim Shore Angels are so pretty! I’ve never seen anything like them. Just beautiful. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I love the way your house looks so uncluttered and I love the simplicity of your decor in your final photo. In fact the simplicity of all the decor is so appealing. Of course the turkey display with the BIG bird is beautiful, too. I haven’t done much Thanksgiving decorating but have left out some fall arrangements from the Halloween decor. I might just let that be enough! Depends on how inspired I get.
I hope you and your family have a lovely Thanksgiving.
I just love the pops of blue against the pretty oranges, browns, and fall colors.
You’ve done such a beautiful job Katie – I love the minimal touches! And how sweet is that turkey?! Now you have the perfect centerpiece, and a thoughtful reminder of your friend! Happy Thanksgiving back to you – it’s never too early!
That second setting is quite the impressive turkey.
Fun to see a tour of your pretty home, Katherine! You definitely tucked a little Thanksgiving all about. Have a wonderfully thankful Thanksgiving celebration!
Your home is lovely Katherine! It’s fun to see how you’ve displayed your thoughtful birthday gift too. Turkeys are not easy to find so it’s definitely a sweet gift. I hope you and your family have a great time celebrating together. You’re savoring the season and that’s what Thanksgiving is all about. Hugs and Happy Thanksgiving, CoCo
It’s so nice to see you savoring the Thanksgiving season with your decor, Katherine. I really love that little wooden pumpkin, and those Jim Shore angels in the windowsill of the kitchen are perfect! Your Tom turkey on the buffet is the fitting star there, and a happy birthday present to remember for years to follow.
Happy Thanksgiving, my friend. I am thankful for my circle of blogging friends, and count you among them!
Aw, your Thanksgiving decor is so very pretty and perfect for the season. I mainly have fall decor here that I put back up after Halloween. Not much on displaying turkeys and stuff to be honest. But still autumn season, so usually stick with that theme during this time of the year more or less. Thanks for sharing and hugs xoxo <3
Katherine, thank you for the tour of your lovingly decorated home. My eye though immediately went to the peacock leaf — as that bird of a feather reigns supreme at our house, even at Thanksgiving! That’s bee-cause Peacock (first name) is my husband’s Revolutionary War ancestor and a spy for Gen Washington. The Brits called him the “Rebel Bird.” Even so, love your “big ol turkey” in its place. A beautiful, festive display on your buffet. Have a most happy holiday!
