It’s All About the Light
Dear friends, it’s Christmas eve, I absolutely love this time of year. Bring on the cold weather, Christmas music, Christmas movies, family gatherings, presents, I love it all! A Christmas eve blog post is expected to be all “sing-songy, light and fluffy.” I’ll do my best to keep it that way. Let me share something with you.
There is a commonality throughout the bible about the celebration of Jesus’ birth; it is about the light! There was a time when everything was perfect. God created a utopia filled with love and light. It was free from the troubles we face today…….. Until the dark crept in(sin).
Darkness by definition, is the absence of light. Without God we will continue to live in the darkness. Fortunately, Jesus is the light of the world!
In the Bible, John the Baptist (John 8:12) tells us about Jesus speaking again to the people. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world.” Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life”. Without God, we will continue to live in a dark world.
Tomorrow, as we rejoice in the Birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let’s fill our hearts with the light he so lovingly provides us. Know that the miraculous birth of Jesus is all about the light.
I know that Christmas comes with mixed emotions for many. It can be a reminder of loved ones who are no longer with us. It can also be a reminder of a difficult financial situation or loneliness. Some may reflect on how problematic this last year has been. But, He gives love and purpose to help us. Through Christ, there is hope. There is light. Jesus can rescue us from the darkness.
He is the Light.
Sending love and appreciation to each of you today and always.
Wishing you a Very Merry Light Filled Christmas. (smile)
