Happy Birthday To Me

Yes, it’s my birthday today! It’s been about 25 years since I had an actual birthday party, so today I’m  celebrating with a little party right here at Katherines Corner.

Another year older. I am grateful for every day!  How old am I ?………. 51……..

 

 

 

 

 

 

A few fun tid bits of information from the day I was born. Keep in mind I was born in England .

( image blue grass special) Elvis Presley released his 45,  Are You Lonesome Tonight.  Oh how my Mother loved Elvis! She still does, I think I even saw here swoon once when an old Elvis movie came on the television.

Most likely it released in the US at the same time, right? I wish I still had some 45 records. Sadly I had a few that warped terribly so they are gone now. I still have over 100 LP’s though ( all I need now is a record player).

 

 

 

( image free image sharing)The Royal Variety Show was the number one television program. It is still an annual program. A variety of entertainers perform for the Queen ( her Majesty Queen Elizabeth) and all of the proceeds go to the royal charity fund.

 

 

 

(image from Amazon) The book Lady Chatterley’s Lover went on sale. Book shops all over England sold out. It was a very controversial book for it’s time. I read this book when I was a teen, shhhh don’t tell.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My Mothers favorite show was on television, Coronation Street (Britain’s longest-running television soap opera).

  9. Happiest of birthdays to you, milady! May you know God’s richest blessings as you celebrate! Loved all the nostalgia – I just turned 52 on September 1. Nostalgia becomes more a part of my life as I age. Funny, that. Still feel very connected to my “child” – seems like yesterday . . .

    Let’s see back in 1960 I was 13 and in the 7th grade I guess. About all that was on my mind was being in the woods with my dog Poochie trailblazing and primarily being away from my two younger sisters.
    Seriously Katie, I do hope you are feeling so good today and I also hope you are pampered and made to feel like the awesome lady that you are.

  38. Happy birthday, dear Katie! You’re 51 years young because 51 is the new 15. On November 1st, 1960 I was excited about my 11th birthday which was coming up on the 20th. The 20th of November, 1960, is also the day that Elvis Presley’s “Are You Lonesome Tonight” first entered the USA pop chart on its way to #1. I hope you have a wonderful birthday, dear friend!
