Things You Do
You know those days when no matter what you do it never quite seems like enough. The days when the things you do strays far from the to do list you so brilliantly created with dots and notes and little doodles. Yes, the to do list of ten things, which has only one checkmark. The kind of day when the cut on your knee from shaving in a hurry stings all day. You know that day, right?
I had one just the other day. I have them more often than not. I have a self imposed agenda that must be met. I must take care to make sure all requests and help needed is fulfilled. Then my list of to do’s can be done.
It’s no news flash that I am extremely over extended. I’ve shared times before when I felt like a piece of bread with twenty birds pecking at it. Once again I bring this on myself. I think, ” I am a woman , I can do many things at once, I am the queen of multi-tasking, I am a woman”. Okay gut check time! How real is this delusion of mine? Good grief, really I mean who says this? Do you?
I call my Mum /Mom/Mother/Mummy she goes by many names, every week. I happened to mention my leaky bucket of two do’s and I swear I could hear her nod her head, yes multi tasking, uh hmm, yes, superwoman, yes…
After our phone call I felt better. I got it all out and it was heard with a loving and sympathetic ear. Jump forward about 4 days and I open the mail and find this.
Sometimes, no matter how old you are, you just need to talk to your Mother about the things you do.
You can still share at the TFT party until Saturday at Midnight.

What a sweet surprise to get from your mother. Our Mothers are our greatest cheerleaders. And you are right, it doesn’t matter how old you are, it always helps to talk to your mother. <3
So true Michelle, I try to always be there for my daughter when she needs me. Hugs!
How nice to see what a great relationship you have with your Mom makes life better for all of us that miss our Moms
She is our angel on earth and I know how lucky I am. Hugs
What a wonderful, sweet Mom you have! We are so hard on ourselves, aren’t we? The best thing we can do is to stop being mean to ourselves and holding ourselves to impossible standards of performance. No one can be so awesome 24/7.
Jean this is so true. xo
Aw, Katie I agree as no matter how old I am I still sometimes need my mother, too. Hugs and have a wonderful weekend now xoxo <3
