Mothers Day Gift Guide
Although they are cherished gifts, the days of giving macaroni necklaces to your Mother on Mother’s Day are behind you. Buying something special for your Mother or someone you love like a Mother can be difficult. I know I hear it from our daughter and grandchildren every year. The truth is, I struggle sometimes to find just the right thing for my Mother too. Although this year I “nailed it” and I know she will love it. I can’t share it with you just in case she reads my blog while she’s in England visiting her sisters and brother.
You’ve probably seen a lot of Mother’s Day gift guides. I’m hoping mine will provide something creative you haven’t thought of yet.
Flowers are always nice. But, what would be even better? Consider giving her a couple of flats of her favorite spring and summer blooms and you plant them for her. Put them in her garden or plant them in containers. In the yard, on the patio or balcony. I suggest getting perennials so every year she will enjoy seeing her lovely Mother’s Day gift bloom. Or plant a butterfly garden! Some of the flowers that attract butterflies are Alyssum, Aster, Bee Balm, Butterfly Bush, Calendula, Cosmos, Daylily, and Delphinium. A flowering bush is also a lovely gift.
Asters
Maybe she’s not that “into” flowers. Have you considered giving her a tree? You can find a beautiful ornamental (non-fruit bearing) tree. Pear trees grow quickly, and they have lovely white blossoms in the spring. Every time your Mother sees her tree she will think of how you gave it to her and planted it in just the right place.
We love to give our Mothers something that sparkles. You are, after all, the sparkle in her eyes. Jewelry is a lovely gift. I have some pretty pieces in my Katherines Corner Shop and I can ship them to you in time for Mother’s Day. Barring no unforeseen circumstances, alien invasion, zombie apocalypse, etc. You need to find the perfect piece of jewelry for her style. I also have some $5 jewelry! Just click here to order from my Paparazzi website. Or contact me to see what I have on hand. If I have it on hand I can mail it to you today!
Manicure and/or pedicure gift cards are always nice. But, you can make it even nicer by creating a gift basket or bag filled with things to pamper her hands or feet long after her professional mani, pedi. Polish, lotions, etc. and don’t forget to add a couple of sweet treats in the basket or bag too.
We spend a third of our lives sleeping, so a pretty nightgown or pajamas are awesome gifts for Mother’s Day. Give her a reason to stay in her pajamas all day long and include a DVD, some popcorn, and a sweet treat. Wish her a Happy Mother’s Day and a happy pajama day too. I love this Sasha Nightshirt from Soft Surroundings (I’m not affiliated with Soft Surroundings).
Did my Mother’s Day gift guide provide you with something you hadn’t thought of?
I have some beautiful teacups in my shop too. If your Mother enjoys tea, include her favorite blend and a pretty teacup from Katherines Corner Shop (wink). I always say tea tastes best when it served in a pretty cup. Add a nice tea towel too.
Use discount code MOMSTEA2018 to receive 10% off of your purchase of any tea towel, tea mug or teacup at the Katherines Corner Shop.
I’ll see you all back here tomorrow for the best blog party in blog land!
As a mother I am not sure what I would like. You give great idea’s but I am not a flower or tree person but I do like that gown from Soft Surroundings.
Such great Mother’s Day ideas!! Thank you Katherine! Xoxo

I live too far away to plant something but maybe I can have a plant shipped to her…
