I Like Your Accent
In February I mentioned to hubby that I was planning to buy an accent chair for the Christmas tree room. The room where we literally put our Christmas tree every year. We use the room for other things too and Izzy and I often cuddle up in the mornings, with my tea, a book or magazine and he sleeps on my lap. It’s a nice way to start the day. I need to do it more often. Do you have a front and back living room or a Christmas tree room? I like a nice accent chair and I have had a couple of different styles (or not one at all) over the years. I often leave comments” I like your Accent” on the blogs I visit that have a nice accent chair too.
Hubby ordered the accent chair from Target. You can see in the image below how much was paid and free shipping too. I did a little dance and may or may not have said, “wheee”. It arrived in about a week and it was perfect. So perfect that I decided it needed to have a friend. Two accent chairs in front of the fireplace beckoning someone to have a seat. There’s never enough seating in the Christmas tree room anyway, so yea!
After a rather brief discussion with hubby, I clicked over to Target and …what…SOLD OUT! Noooooo. I was gobsmacked. I just continued sitting there looking at the computer screen waiting to see if refreshing it several times will somehow flash a message, “Katherine just for you, we have one left!” But, no such luck or home decor magic. I then began the quest, the quest for a matching Classic Swoop Accent Chair in Suri Blue made by HomePop, now referred to as the tale of two chairs. I’m not showing the whole room, I am adding some more pieces and I’ll share it when I’m finished.
Time passed, and my quest continued. As you can see from the image below prices for this little chair are all over the place. Every single one of these shops was sold out. Apparently, there was some force out there that “swooped in” and took all the Classic Swoop Accent Chairs in Suri Blue from our planet.
Over the past 3 months, I have been checking Target regularly. They have the best price as you can clearly see. But, still sold out. I even went directly to the manufacturer for a possible restock date, but no help there. I was nearly at the, “throw your hands in the air and yell, you win” moment. Nearly…for one last time, I clicked over to Target and guess what. Yes! There it was in all its glory, the Classic Swoop Accent Chair in Suri Blue. I quickly put it into my cart and then I saw it…the price…no, really, how can that be? It’s now $144. Rats, double rats. I only had saved enough to pay the price we originally paid for the first chair. Ugh….
Katherine this is called being on a mission.lol Yes I have done the same thing over numerous items. You should just pony up the money and move on. lol
Go ahead and get the accent you are dying for. You appear to be in love with this chair.
BUMMER!!! That’s a beautiful chair and so sorry for all your work! Did you check to see if Target is offering any coupons? I hope you will eventually be sitting in your lovely chair in your cozy home.
I have so had this happen to me with price fluctuations in an item I want and definitely has driven me crazy as I hate having to pay more rather than less. That said, I hope you can still get your chair. And got my fingers crossed for you now. Hugs and Happy Wednesday xoxo 😉
