Hello friends, happy weekend wishes! The gifts are unwrapped your decorations are put away and I’m hopeful your smile continues. I hope you keep the feeling of Christmas with you throughout the new year. Now it’s time to sit down and write a thoughtful thank you card.
Whether you’re saying thank you for a gift, for hosting a party, or for staying at their home for the holidays, a personal ( not electronic) thank you card is a thoughtful way to spark happy memories. This simple acknowledgment makes the gifter know just how much you appreciate their thoughtful gift, kindness, etc. even more.
My daughter is rolling her eyes right now and saying, “Mom nobody writes thank you cards anymore, send an e-card”. I’m sorry, I just can’t do it.
General etiquette dictates we send a thank you card out as soon as possible. But, if it’s been more than three weeks, consider starting with an apology ( not an excuse) just something brief, like, “I’ve been planning to sit down and write you to say thank you for ___________

The two most important words, Thank you (unless you’re late in sending it out, then a brief apology followed by thank you).

I can’t wait to wear it
I’ve already worn it and love it
it’s what I’ve always wanted
you know me so well, it is my new favorite ______
I think of you when I use it
I can’t wait to use the_______ gift card, I’ll let you know what I buy.
Thank you for your help with the __________
Thank you for your time and hard work with the__________________
Thank you for welcoming us into your lovely home
At the end-
Sometimes saying thank you again at the end of the note is an extra happy, ( thank you again for______________). But it is not mandatory.
