Will You Read a Book With Me

Hello friends, I know it’s a little early for summer reading, but I thought I would try a “book clubish” idea. Several years ago I had a book club here and it was lot of fun. This idea is a lot simpler than a book club where we meet up every week to discuss the book.

I have two new books on my table to choose from, all you do is vote for the book you’d like to read along with me, and the book with the most votes will be the book we read first. We’ll all read it and I’ll share blog post on June 11th and you can comment and share your thoughts. What do you think? Will You Read a Book with Me?

I took these photos yesterday when it was snowing! I clipped lilacs and a tiny viburnum blossom and now my art room smells amazing!

The first book is –

“Out of the Corner” a memoir by Jennifer Grey. She is the lovely and talented actress best known for her portrayal of Baby in the beloved film classic Dirty Dancing, ( which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress), and for her role, as Matthew Broderick’s sister in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Her numerous film, television, and theater credits span decades. Recently she starred in the acclaimed series Red Oaks and won season eleven of Dancing with the Stars.

Side note- Ms. Grey is currently looking forward to starring in the long-awaited Dirty Dancing sequel. (smile)

The second book is-

“Born, Giving Birth to a New You“, it is a guide to your best life book. It focuses on self-actualization and claiming your desires. It is written by the also lovely and talented Dee Wallace, the internationally known actress (250 films credits) who is best known for her role as the mother in the movie E.T. (smile)

Ms. Wallace earned her teaching credentials from The University of Kansas, and has worked as a teacher in the public school system, as well as her own dance and acting studios. Ms. Wallace expanded her love of teaching, and the principles she found empowering for children, into daily sessions, a radio show and five books. Her work is based on the principles of accepting responsibility, and loving ourselves.

Side note-Ms. Wallace is a strong advocate for accepting (at an early age) our own magnificence and power in a positive, loving way. A child’s personality is set between 0-8 years of age which has a direct impact on the creation of their life.
