15 Minute Christmas Tree Craft
Hello friends, I think its been a while since I shared a bit of craftiness with you. So grab your glue gun and lets make some quick and easy 15 Minute Christmas trees!
What You Need
- Styrofoam Cones (or you can make them from card stock)
- Scissors
- Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Felt in a color choice similar to, or an accent color of the trim you plan to use
- Assorted strips of trim, lace, eyelet, fringe etc.
- Additional adornments if desired
- Clean working surface.
Let’s Make Trees! Using your glue gun make a line of glue from top to bottom (outside edge) of the cone. Lay your felt out and place your cone on it, with the glue line to the edge of the felt. Roll your cone until both ends of the felt meet. Then glue the edge closed. Using scissors trim off any extra felt.
Why do I add felt first? The hot glue melts the styrofoam, so I usually add felt first then any hot glue I use will go onto the felted surface.
Now comes the fun part! Starting from the bottom outside edge of the cone add a bit of glue and begin layering and wrapping the trim. Dotting with glue as you go upwards to keep your trim in place. When you get to the tip of the tree. You can either leave it open to add embellishments or add a dot of glue and seal it closed.
It’s basically done. Taa Daa.
But…… you can add some pretty bits to it, small charms, bows, beads, etc.
I used two of my trees in my Winter Wonderland on a Tray (Vignette). If you haven’t taken the tour please click HERE for amazing inspiration. Where will you use them?
