Pressed Flowers Autumn Decor
Dear Friends, thank you for hanging in there for me as I continue you my drug trial. I pray I will be back to posting more often in the new year. Meanwhile as I sit with my tea in hand and look out the window, it seems that winter has arrived. We hopped right over autumn! Lets bring a little bit of autumn into our homes, and I’ll ignore the snow outside (smile)
Have you ever tucked leaves or flowers into the pages of a book? I haven’t done it in years but I do remember my delight in re-discovering them. Fond memories come from a crisp autumn morning walk. Or from a day spent collecting wildflowers. These moments are perfectly preserved between the pages of a book.
How To Press Flowers and Leaves Using a Book
- I select a hard cover book, and go to the center of the book. (if you think you’ll be pressing flowers on a regular basis. Select one book to use every time.)
- Line a book page with parchment paper
- Place the flowers and leaves onto the parchment.
- Put another piece of parchment on top of the leaves and flowers.
- Close the book.
- Place other books or a heavy object on top and store in a warm dry place.
- They should be ready to use in about six weeks.
