Dear Katie Ice Cream Crystals
Dear Katie I never eat my ice cream fast enough. Well, sometimes I do, ha,ha. Is there a way to keep ice crystals from forming all over it in the freezer? Anita
Dear Anita, this time of the year I can’t keep the ice cream in our freezer for very long either. Our grandchildren make sure of that. But, what a great question.
I’ve found the best method is to keep the ice cream in the original container and put into a zip top freezer bag.
If your container is to big for a large zip top style bag, cover the ice cream container tightly with plastic wrap before placing it in the freezer.
This should keep the ice crystals from covering your ice cream and leaving that freezer taste.
Thank you for your question. Hugs, Katie
Thanks for the tip!
What a great idea to put plastic wrap over the container before closing it! While I personally never have this problem with the ice cream I buy for myself, my kids tend to forget about it and it gets a little freezer burned. I’ll have to try this!

Nice. Now I know why Tupperware sold ice cream thingies (thats the technical term )
I should have bought them when I had the chance!
Great tip!
I just came back from having a chocolate rolo ice cream cone in a waffle cone with my hubby…yummy! 🙂
Have a great week!!

Great tip. I’ll have to see if it works in cooler weather, when ice cream last a little longer.
Great tips, thanks for sharing it. We eats lots of ice cream.
great tip! I have an allergy to dairy so my coconut milk ice cream is worth saving!
What a GREAT tip! I’ve often wondered how to keep that from happening! ~Hugs, M
Great tip BUT…. I can only eat the lactose free ice cream. Hope it works for that too.
