New Book Club Selection Vote
Sorry I’m a little late posting today….It’s time to vote for the new book club selection. I hope everyone enjoyed reading On Lavender Lane. I look forward to reading your comments. I’m excited to have new members joining us. Just a reminder that this is a no obligation book club. Just read the book and write your comments on the book club page for us all to share. Time to make your selection
Ali In Wonderland By Ali Wentworth-Growing up in a family of political journalists, the daughter of President Reagan’s White House social secretary. Ali Wentworth rebelled against her blue-blood upbringing, embracing Hollywood, motorcycles, even a few wildly inappropriate marriage proposals. Today she is an acclaimed comedic actress and writer, former Oprah regular, wife of political and media star George Stephanopoulos, and a mother who lets her two girls eat cotton candy before bed. Though she’s settled down, her rebellious nature thrives in her comedy and her view of her crazy world.
The Wedding Quilt By Jennifer Chiaverini–As the wedding day of Sarah’s daughter Caroline approaches. As Sarah has learned, a union celebrates not only the betrothed couple’s passage into wedlock, but also the contributions of those who have made the bride and groom the unique people they are. Thus Sarah’s thoughts are filled with brides of Elm Creek Manor past and present-the traditions they honored, the legacies they bequeathed, and the wedding quilts that contain their stories in every stitch.
The Leftovers By Tom Perrotta-What if—whoosh, right now, with no explanation—a number of us simply vanished? Would some of us collapse? Would others of us go on, one foot in front of the other, as we did before the world turned upside down?
That’s what the bewildered citizens of Mapleton, who lost many of their neighbors, friends and lovers in the event known as the Sudden Departure, have to figure out. Because nothing has been the same since it happened—not marriages, not friendships, not even the relationships between parents and children.
The Wolf Gift by Anne Rice-A young reporter on assignment from the San Francisco Observer . . . An older woman welcoming him into her magnificent family home that he has been sent to write about and that she must sell with some urgency . . . A chance encounter between two unlikely people . . . An idyllic night—shattered by horrific unimaginable violence, the young man inexplicably attacked—bitten—by a beast he cannot see in the rural darkness . . .
Okay bloggy friends and book lovers. As always I try and provide a little bit of everything so the voting might be a challenge. Will it be a story of a wedding, a humorous memoir, a tale of loss( or is it the rapture), or an imaginative fantasy? The decision is yours! Cast your vote in the comment section and I will announce the book selection on Friday 🙂 Voting ends Thursday at 6 pm ( MST)
Remember you can join the Katherine Corner Book Club at any time.
I vote for Ali in Wonderland 😉
wow, it’s hard to choose one….but I guess that I would be in the mood for a mystery.
I’m going with The Leftovers, sounds all to close to one I read several years ago, I bet you can guess which one 🙂
Looks like the top two are Leftover and the Rice book and those just are not up my alley, I would have gone with Ali in Wonderland.
Have fun, Happy Reading and I will check in next month!!!!
Wow…tough choice, but I have to go with Ann Rice’s book!
I won’t vote this time. I voted on that last book and didn’t like it so I still like a few chapters finishing it. I don’t care for any of the books listed and don’t care to start reading another one I don’t like. I never read Anne Rice. I will be sure and read all of your comments on the book you choose. I hope all of you enjoy it.
Although I follow you on Google+, I never have visiting your blog directly. Terribly bad on my part. Such a sweet blog you have too!!! Glad we’ve connected and look forward to getting better acquainted. Cheers to you, friend!

I just started the last book today! I won’t vote because I am such a loser. I am so completely behind in my reading, and it is stressing me out! Great choices, though….
I’m voting for The Leftovers. This will be my first time joining your book club! Thanks for hosting.
Any of these look good by my choice would be The Wedding Quilt.

Anne Rice’s Wolf Gift, for sure! Hope I can join in this time– I’ve missed reading with you.
Oh, I vote for the Wedding Quilt! But you knew I would, right? LOL
OH, The Wolf Gift and The Leftovers sound like such awesome books! I’m going to have to add them to my library for future reading! ~Hugs, xo
