New Book Club Selection For April, Bloom By Kelle Hampton
Oh my goodness we only had two “offical” votes for the April book and we have 42 book club members……sigh, do you think the shine may be wearing off on our wonderful book club? I sure hope not. I did hear from a few off you and there was very little interest in the book selection this month ( thank you to those that did vote however) . So, I’ve done something wild, something crazy, something out of the ordinary!!!
I selected the book. That’s right, I did it! I cant wait to read it! The book for this month is not even one that was listed ( see above sentence about lack of interest) .Instead I have chosen Bloom by Kelli Hampton as our book club book for April. I hope you will join me in reading it. I look forward to your comments and I will be sending emails to all of the book club members announcing the selection. If you are not a member of our book club you are always welcome to join. Lets see if we can get it shining bright again.
Click the book to purchase or pick it up from your local bookseller.
Book Description from Amazon- Love me. Love me. I’m not what you expected, but oh, please love me. That was the most defining moment of my life. That was the beginning of my story.
From the outside looking in, Kelle Hampton had the perfect life: a beautiful two-year-old daughter, a loving husband, a thriving photography career, and great friends. When she learned she was pregnant with her second child, she and her husband, Brett, were ecstatic. Her pregnancy went smoothly and the ultrasounds showed a beautiful, healthy, high-kicking baby girl.
Will you read it with me?
Have you entered the What’s Cooking Giveaway?
Think I’ll pass on this one, but let me know what the book for May will be.
What a shame there has been a lack of interest, I have considered joining you in the past but being on the other side of the pond, usually means I have not even heard of the books you choose. I am not sure if you follow my Book review Blog but if you do you may be interested in my Extras page on FB, do call by and say hi sometime. You are welcome to mention this bookclub read there, you may generate more interest.
I meant to add. ( in my comment above )..that I have already committed to reading several books for the month of April, so I wont be able to read this one right now..but I will be adding it to my – To be read – list, thank you!
This looks like a wonderful book! My Son is autistic, so I can totally understand this authors point of view on “embracing the beauty”. =)
I saw a autism gift yesterday, that said
“Its an Autism thing..you wouldnt understand…”
( I can totally relate to that sentence….)
Good idea to create a new post for each book club book– that is how other online book clubs seem to do it as well.
Ha, and I was so excited that the 3 previous choices suited my speculative fiction loving soul perfectly. Good thing I spotted Wolf Gift and Discovery of Witches at the library and checked them both out. Already finished Wolf Gift– fun read.
I’m not too interested in Bloom but if I have time I may give it a go.
We have had two people in our family with Down Syndrome. I avoid them like the plague. I would never read a book about them. I’m way too sensitive. I know they are a blessing from God but I have just never been able to deal with it. Sorry
I am thrilled you picked a different book! I just ordered it!! Oh, and I am glad you are fixing the comments so it is just with the book, it was hard to scroll down to get to the book and join a discussion. I am excited for the changes!!
I like the single book way also.
