  7. Happy Anniversery. I am glad your happy but its not for everyone and I am most definitly not the “spinster” on the cornor . I have never once experienced being lonely. LIfe is to full of amazing experiences for that. I have never been happier then being in charge of my own life and not dependent on a relationship or a man. Its very empowering. Thank God I never thought of myself in that way after my divorce. I grabbed all I could from life and still do every day! Marriage to me is like a form of slavery, boring and limiting. But good for you sounds like you really need a man in your life. I am so happy I do not. Spinster ! That is word from Victorian times ! Women today are intelligent, empowered and successful.

    1. Hello Alexis, thank you for the Happy Anniversary wish and your very spirited comment. You are right marriage is not for everyone. I am sorry you felt the need to burst my happy balloon. But, I appreciate your opinion and I respect that you felt comfortable enough at Katherines Corner to “let it all out” on my anniversary message to my husband. His love gives me great joy. I used the antiquated term “spinster” with a tongue in cheek spirit. I’m not sure how you thought that meant that women were not empowered, intelligent or successful. If you are a regular reader of Katherines Corner you know that I surely am.
I send this response with no ill intent and I send it with gratitude for your comment and wrap it all in hug!

  8. Happy Anniversary! I can relate. After being “single” for 24 years after a divorce, love found me, too. I wasn’t looking, didn’t think I wanted to ever get married again. Then along came Walt and we just celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. when you least expect it…
    Hugs, GraceinAZ (Pat)

  10. It is so easy for people to be cynical these days, and this post is so uplifting about the love that you and Sparky have for one another. I loved it, and beautifully put if I may say so!

  11. Happy anniversary, dear Katie! Robert is a luck man to have found someone as attractive, intelligent, sweet and caring as you. You are equally lucky to feel that he is the love of your life. It’s Friday which means your anniversary celebration can go on all weekend. I hope it goes on and on for many years to come!

  12. That was beautifully said…..sigh……Happy anniversary, wishing you a wonderful weekend with your wonderful husband.

Love each other as God loves you xo
