H2O
Tid Bit Tuesday- Water, good ole’ H2O. I drink it, I drink a lot of it. A minimum of 64 ounces every day. I fill up a jug every morning, it makes it easier to gauge how much I have had during the day. I take a bottle of water with me every time I leave the house ( note I use refillable bottles, all BPA free) .
Those of you who have been my bloggy friends for a while know that I have P.V. also know as P. Vera which is short for polycythemia vera. I have several other health issues too. But, that would be T.M.I ( to much information) even for tid bit Tuesday. My oncologist /hematologist recommends drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated. P.V. patients are itchy all of the time. Our skin is dry, it cracks, and well, it is miserable. A lot of lotions and creams have aloe in them. It is a great healing agent. But, unfortunately, I am allergic to aloe…ugh. So I try and keep my body and skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water and using lotions and creams without aloe. I’ve tried so many and have yet to find one that really works well.
Your Mother probably told you to brush your teeth twice a day, wear clean underwear, don’t stick a fork in the toaster, and drink plenty of water. We should all listen to our Mother! Water provides so many benefits to our body .
It helps to maintain body fluids
It helps energize muscles
It keeps your kidneys and bowels healthy
Its great for your skin
It also helps you to be less tired
How much water do you drink in a day?.
Have you entered the giveaway? only ten days left.
This message is a simple one yet so many of us over look water as a solution to some of our health issues. I myself do not yet drink enough water. I am working on that. Thanks for the bump I needed in this !!!!
I keep water with me all day, and throughout the night. (I wake up thirsty!) But, I’m sure I don’t drink enough…good info to remember so I can make it a point to do better!
Blessings,
Cindy
I hate to admit it, but I rarely drink water. I’ve just never been a fan of it for some reason. Ever so often though, I do have a sip or two, but a whole glass? Never. (I know, you’re gasping now) Big hugs to you, xoxo
I have a friend who drinks so much water, he face looks 21 (she’s about 60). She looks wonderful. It works.
Im sorry about your health issues.. ( hugs )
I try to drink several large glasses of water each day, preferring water over coffee..
Sorry about your P.V. ((HUGS)) I drink as much as I can but I’m not sure the exact amount. Maybe about 40 oz. a day. I like water with fresh lemon squeezed in. I rarely drink coffee, tea or soda.
I used to never drink water. I literally did not drink a cup of water for 6 weeks and when that reality hit me, I made sure to change my habits. I now only drink soda pop on the weekends. I forgot, for some reason, the importance of water in my life!
I drink even more than that some days. Of course, I rarely have soda, and I don’t drink coffee or tea.
I do try and drink a lot of water but some days are a struggle (when I’m so busy I forget) I do notice when I haven’t had enough, feeling tired and sluggish.
Thanks for sharing, I always enjoy reading your tid bit Tuesdays 🙂
Have a wonderful day over on your side of the world xo
I would love to be able to drink more water but after my bladder suspension surgery- I can’t. The Dr. messed me up. I go to the bathroom more now than I ever did before. Every time I drink something it comes right back out. Such a bother and I have no life at all now.

Thanks for letting me know all that useful info. I always knew water was great but I never knew all the benefits you wrote about!
Thanks.
Not nearly enough, Katherine! I drink more in the summer months because I am always hot and thirsty but in the winter I find it harder to drink water because of being cold all the time. Plus, for me there is the added issue of having to go to the bathroom all the time which can make it difficult if I’m going to be out and about. There is nothing worse than not being able to find a restroom when you need one. Ha
Thanks so much for the reminder, I used to drink it all the time and somehow got out of the habit, I need to get back on that wagon! It is good for so many things inside your body!
I drink a ton of water also. I don’t drink soda’s or much else all day long except water. Sometimes I put a lemon in it, lime, slice of orange. This week I’m adding a splash of POM to shake it up. But, I love water and suffer the consequenses in the evening! LOL. Have a great day. Hugs
I don’t drink nearly enough water but it’s something I’m seriously working on. I think I’ll try your method of keeping a jug of water out to remind me how much I’ve not had yet today!
Blessings!
~Anna
Thanks for reminding me! I’m headed upstairs to get a glass of water! Heehee!
I try hard to drink lots of water and still tend to be rather dry. I’m sorry to hear you have to deal with this. I have ongoing health issues too. As far as a lotion that really hydrates, I would wholeheartedly recommend a lotion by the Tropical Traditions company that contains wonderful oils. http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/organic_moisturizing_lotions.htm I love the stuff! I even use it on my “horse hair” textured hair. It tames the mane!
I am with you on this one and drink water all day. It is truly my drink of choice and could very much relate to your post today.
I don’t drink NEARLY enough water! Although I drink much more now than I did 10 years ago. I had a friend with a similar problem with dry skin and unable to use anything with aloe – she used udder cream and swore by it. Have no clue where you find it though.
I am terrible about remembering to drink water, but I drink it instead of sodas. Lemon in water is great for helping to detoxify your system.
I have a pinterest board that has a lot of homemade lotions, you should try one of them

I don’t drink enough, especially if I get into coffee mode (drinking coffee all day long!). I’ve been doing a lot better w/the latter, but I’m still lacking on the water consumption.
I don’t keep track of the quantity, Katie, but I suspect that I drink as much water as you do. I drink it with every meal, before and after exercise, first thing in the morning and just before bed. Filtered tap water is healthy and the price is right. Happy TBT, Katie!
I know the importance of drinking enough water every day.
Since getting Bell’s Palsy 7 1/2 months ago, it has been something I’ve found very helpful in the way I feel, especially with the tiredness and fatigue. On days that it’s the only thing I drink, I feel soooo much better. It’s still a struggle for me to drink so much of it…I have never liked drinking water. If I put squeeze a slice or wedge of lemon into it…it helps.
Good reminder!
Unfortunately, I don’t drink nearly enough, unless I count the water in my coffee, which really doesn’t count.
Hi, Katie
Water is all I drink everyday and 1 cup of coffee. I do see a difference when I don’t drink enough water, not good. Happy Tuesday!
