A Change In Plans
A Change In Plans
Last weekend we had planned a drive to Idaho. Izzy loves car rides and its a great excuse to pick up some lottery tickets too. Our plans changed when our dishwasher decided it had done its job and was on a permanent break. Sigh…. they just don’t make things like they used too 🙂
We spent the day researching new dishwashers versus repairing our broken one and then took a trip to the local Lowes. Not the day trip we had anticipated. The day got away from us and soon it was to late to go anywhere.
Sunday morning the temps were cool but our energy level was high so we gathered Izzy and a few necessity and headed to a local pond.
We spent an hour watching eagles land, hawks sit, herons wander and pelicans fly . No fancy photos my friends just some simple snaps. I take all of my photos with a Canon power shot. No fancy telephoto lenses either so a couple of the shots are a bit out of focus.
this hawk was a little camera shy
This heron didn’t mind showing off a bit
this bald eagle was a long way off sitting with the seagulls.
The seagulls were enjoying the snow. If you didn’t know it was snow it almost looks like white sand.
after our trip we came home for a late lunch. I was busy in the kitchen and I looked in the living room to see this! Ahh those are my boys. Life is good.
What have you taken snaps of lately?
I hope you have a lovely weekend. Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead an hour on Sunday morning. You can still link your wonderful blogs to yesterdays hop too.
It is my pleasure to introduce you to Katherines Corner’s newest Sponsor Snack Cups and Smiles
Who needs a fancy lens? These photos are GORGEOUS! Great job!
Great post. I guess it great to have a new dishwasher, but it’s nice when you have time to plan for one.
Visiting from Harvest of Friends.
I am following you!!

How pretty and such great pictures! That’s a bummer about your dishwasher but it seems like you had a great weekend anyway!
Theresa
What a shame you had to cancel your plans! Sounds like you had a good time the next day, though. Great photos! The boys look very content on the couch. 🙂
My last photos, as you saw, were from The Who in concert. Cheers!
Beautiful snapshots. Love the snap of Izzy and hubby. Boy, do they look comfortable.
Hugs, Ginger
I don’t like when plans change. Looks like your Sunday turned out to be a great day!
We’re waiting anxiously for the 4000+ tundra swans to descend onto the local marshland so that we can have exactly the same type of day.
Hope you got your nap after making lunc.
These don’t look like simple snaps to me 🙂 My simple snaps are someone with their eyes closed or they’ve got half their lunch on their shirt. LOL
Beautiful photos!
Lovely photos. I miss Utah, spent half my life there and get homesick sometimes.
Beautiful photos Catherine. So serene.
Great photos, especially of the birds. Looks like it was a worthwhile trip after all.
Reminds me of my hubby and our fur babies after being gone all day! What a wonderful, simple, beautiful day!
Love these pictures of your adventure. Tthe picture of Izzy sleeping is precious everyone look tuckered out.
Cynthia
I love your photos! All of the birds are so pretty. =)
The photo of your husband and Izzy sleeping is so cute.
I like your new Sponsor’s blog! =)
Hugs,
Melissa
Those look great Katie! P.S. I got the soaps! My son grabbed the mail and says, “this box smells good.” Thank you! laura
Wow. You got a picture of a bald eagle. I’ve never seen one. THAT is impressive! 😀
Hi, Katie! I wonder what was going through Izzy’s mind when he saw all those different birds. Toto gazes at birds and seems to like and appreciate them. She gets excited or agitated, however, whenever she sees a critter with four legs and fur. The picture of your husband with Izzy sleeping on his lap is a keeper. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Your photos are beautiful 🙂 A bald eagle, that I would love to see!
Other than the dishwasher, sounded like a nice weekend was had and hope you have another wonderful with this weekend, too!! 🙂
Sorry to hear about your dishwasher breaking down. I have one that I never hardly use; maybe once a year. We had to replace our refrigerator the first part of Feb. It’s so depressing when an appliance has to be replaced.
Thank you for sharing the wonderful snapshots with us. I so enjoy seeing pictures of nature.
