Green Garden
Green Garden
It’s the first official day of summer today. Although we have been experiencing “summer like” temperatures over the past couple of weeks. 🙁 Our garden has a love- hate relationship with the heat. Some plants thrive while others are hanging in there. We are conserving water in our area too. So watering only a couple of times a week has been challenging. But, our garden is green and lush, healthy and abundant with veggies all because of my masterful gardener ( my hubby)
You know we have been enjoying plenty of fresh picked strawberries ( click to read the post). Now we have peas!! Look at these beauties.
Soon we will be picking zucchini too.
We are so blessed to have a yard that allows for such a beautiful garden.

We are growing our cucumbers on trellises this year
tomato cages, we must cage them…did you see the movie attack of the killer tomatoes , giggle
continued from above… a place for our cottage garden shed ( click to read the post)
and our sweet bird garden (click to read the post ) too.
Our back yard is in a constant state of change and growth and it is wonderful. Tell me about your backyard, about your garden, are you growing veggies too?

Your garden is absolutely beautiful. I love the layout of your yard and garden. I know you’re going to enjoy all of that yummy produce as well as have some to share. You’ve given me some more ideas. 🙂
What a hearty and beautiful garden. For conserving water everything is so lush. Sorry I haven’t answered sooner we have been under a lot of stress, via my blog.

You have a beautiful garden:)
You have created such a pretty garden. Your backyard is gorgeous.
We don’t have a garden. My husband would love it, but everything we try gets attacked by squirrels. You know it is close to impossible to stop a squirrel.
What a pretty space. Your backyard is so inviting. And your garden is wonderful. What a delight to grow your own vegetables. Thank you for stopping by to visit me.
I love your garden, I have a bit of black thumb, but I’m going to try to have a small garden when we move.
I love your garden layout.. just showed it to the Rooster as an idea. He has the WORST time with weeds and johnson grass… I think destroying everything this fall/winter and then building the garden boxes on top of the old ground may be the way to go. Plus then you have room to move around!
Oh I love this! I wish we had a flat space in our yard for a garden. The only flat area we have has our pool in it and I don’t dare put a garden back there. The puppy would have a heyday!! But we do have patio pots on our deck (where there is not easy access for the puppy) and I am growing tomatoes and some herbs…including basil. We belong to a CSA luckily so I can get my fresh veggies there!
It all looks lovely!
wow…I wish! Backyards in southern California are tiny, especially in Orange County unless you buy a multi-million dollar home. You are so lucky!! Enjoy it 🙂
Hi Katie,
Your garden looks beautiful. I miss gardening. I loved having my own veggies by just going outside and picking what we wanted to eat. I love tomato sandwiches, with my own tomatoes.

Love your garden, Katherine. I always start out very organized, but somehow it gets away from me. It is so much fun to harvest and use what I’ve grown. I know what is was grown in, from and what’s on it.
Thanks for the beautiful pictures.
Wishes for tasty dishes,

I love the garden. Some day I hope to have a house with as much room! Thank you for spreading JOY and sharing at the Oh What a HAPPY Day party.

No veggies here, just a few recent flowers that need constant watering in the heat. Yours looks amazing!
What a gorgeous garden – I love how neat, and organized and accessible it all is! (I can only imagine how many hours you’ve put into it…
Your Garden is so pretty! =)
I dont have one right now…but I remember them from when I was younger.
We had radishes, tomatoes and pumpkins I think.
Your backyard is so lovely!
You have the neatest, most organized back yard I have ever seen. Want to come straighten up mine? I’ll let you run all the water you want.
