Crock Pot Pulled Pork Sandwich Recipe
My sweet hubby asks for soup and sandwich nights all of the time. I try and indulge his request on Monday nights. You see Monday night is when we watch our syfy Monday night line up of- Bitten, Being Human and Lost Girl . We watch Teen Wolf ( on MTV) too. But, we have to record that one and watch it later. We watch The Walking Dead on AMC on Sunday nights also. Why am I giving you the run down of our television viewing? Some people are surprised to learn that we watch these programs. I thought it would be fun to share our eclectic tastes. We also watch the BBC, Hallmark, HGTV , Nat Geo and many more. yes we enjoy our television shows 🙂
I have been trying to use my crock pot more often and one of the easiest sandwich recipes you can ever make is a pulled pork sandwich.
What You Need
- 2 lb Boneless pork roast
- 3/4 Cup barbecue sauce ( your favorite)
- 3/4 Cup onion (sliced)
- 1 Tbsp black pepper
- 1/4 Cup water
- Crock Pot ( slow cooker)
- Whisk
- Rolls or buns
- Meat thermometer
Before You Start– Whisk together the barbecue sauce and water
Lets make it! Place the roast in the crock pot fat side up, sprinkle with pepper and onions, pour barbecue mixture over the top of the roast. Cover and cook for 6 -8 hours on medium or high until the pork registers 145 degrees on the meat thermometer. Using two forks shred the roast ( adding more barbecue sauce if desired) Cover with lid and let the additional sauce heat through. Place big spoon fulls on your favorite roll and add pickles, more sauce or other condiments of your choice.
Serves 4-6
I told you it was easy!
Oh my gosh that looks yummy! We grill a lot of pork roast here in the South! 🙂
It is very common in our home as we purchase an entire pig from the farm every year. This recipe looks so simple and will definitely try it next time we have them.
Thank you Sharon, I think you will enjoy it. You have a lovely Etsy shop! hugs
