Random Wednesday

I’ve been feeling a bit out of sorts lately. Which, as I write this, is perfectly understandable. It’s a great time to share random things that just pop into my head. Lets see what my Random Wednesday brain has to say. Don’t expect any political randomness though, I must keep that off limits here on the corner.

I need to find a way to get the smell out of the gasket of my new toy.

I wonder if I can salvage any of the pale pink peonies after our micro-burst wind storm. I should toss the neighbors beach ball over the fence so the kids can have it in their pool.

I did use some peonies in this a shop photo before the storm.

 

Do sales people ever pay attention to the no soliciting sign at our front door or the public do not call list? I had two sales people at the door today and 3 sales calls and it was’t even noon yet. Your thoughts?

Are people bored with TFT, we only have 50% participation these days. I love TFT ! Do you link up your blog?

Izzy is such a good companion, he’s laying on my lap as I write this. If I spend to much time on the computer he will throw a toy at me or climb up and flip the toy on the keyboard. You know you are spending to much time on the computer when your dog tells you enough already!”

I need to figure out which social media websites I really enjoy and focus on those. Social media makes me sing it’s a jungle out there ( from the old tv show Monk). Could you pick only three social networks? That may be all I can handle. I have a lovely following on all of them and I am very grateful. Remember the post , The Importance of Being Social  ? (Watch for Part two next week.) But,I don’t feel as though I can really give them ALL the time and energy deserved when there are so many. I’m still a newby on Instagram, please follow and me I’ll learn from you.

I miss ice cream….

I can smell my anniversary flowers up here in the den ( they are on the dining room table downstairs.)

It’s 98F right now….I need a glass of ice. Oh hospital ice would be great right now ( but  I don’t want to actually be in the hospital to get it). Do you know the kind of ice I mean? Little ice “pellets” that all come together and resemble snow. When are they going to make a fridge that has that ice option!

I haven’t been meeting my steps goal lately, 5000 steps. My hubby beats his 10,000 every day, yesterday his steps were 19,700!

I just read the Goldie Hawn issue of the People magazine. I have always thought she was amazing and I still do. Filled with bright light and good things. Did you read her book years ago, A Lotus Grows In the Mud? She shared so much of her self and her experiences. She may be cute as a button but I think she is very capable of kicking some serious A**. I love her work with mindful meditation too. She encourages school age children to have just 10 minutes of meditation to relieve them of the anxiety they may have at school, home, etc. and to help focus on their studies and overall well being. Beautiful! I have been meditating since I was a very young girl. Under my Mothers tutelage I learned how to relax, rest and even go to sleep after a difficult day.
