Turkish Delight
Ah, Turkish Delight I have fond memories of the sweet and sticky treat, loaded with sugar but so yummy! I think a dentist may have invented it ( wink). My favorite always had pistachios! If you missed it, a while back I had a blog series called Tid Bit Tuesdays and I wrote a couple of posts about living in Turkey. You can see the posts Here and Here. There are a lot of great things I remember about living, near the equator in Turkey. Sweet treats, fresh salty chickpeas sold on the street from the man pushing a cart. Pistachios by the gallon, beaded jewelry, blown glass, and Turkish Towels!
If you love an absorbent towel made of 100 % cotton and often made with some lovely fringe. You will love the towels from Enchante Home. I remember wrapping myself up in a fringe Turkish beach towel after a day spent swimming in the pool or the sea. They are amazingly absorbent! We used to have several beach towels at home. I used to wrap myself up in them like I was wearing a sarong and let the fringe show. I would drape the beach towel around my neck, wrap each end across in front, wrap it wound my back and tie it in the front. It worked well as a modest beach cover-up. Little did I know then that it was a pretty common way to use them.
Have you seen the little toys in a capsule when you add them to water they enlarge? I always thought that was a strange toy to give a child. What if they swallowed it? Wait…squirrel moment…back to the topic. Yes, Turkish Towels, well if you live in Turkey you would just call them towels. These lovely lilac towels from Enchante Home look a little flat, don’t they? Trust me there is some magic in these towels. Follow the washing instructions ( that’s important with everything you launder) and you will see an awesome bit of magic..from flat to fluff. Puffy wonderfully soft and absorbent towels that you will love. Seriously the more you use them the softer they become. I just love this pretty lilac color and design from Enchante Home’s Gracious Collection. A perfect addition to our recently updated bathroom ( if you missed the post you can read it Here).

I love Turkish Delights. One of my favorite sweet treat. I have always bought it but will definitely try this recipe… so simple for something soooo yummy.
Hello Gloria, please share how your recipe turns out! Hugs!
Oh my! You have some very special items from your stay in Turkey. I know how special these items can be to you. I have some very special items from Germany from my stay there many years ago. Those towels are so beautiful. I would love to have a few of those. If I had a choice, I would get something Turkish for my home and it would be those towels. 🙂
Hi Clearissa! Thank you, their towels are lovely. I also sell Turkish hand towels in my zenspiritmalas.com shop. You can start small and work your way up to their towels( wink). I have a few things from my visit to Germany too, although I didn’t live there I still remember buying my first bag of gummy bears! xo
Pistachios are my favorite as well!
I’ve never had Turkish Delight. The only reason I know it exists is from The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.
Omg, I totally remember this Turkish based candy and how you brought me back. Totally want to give the recipe a try and thanks for sharing. Happy Tuesday now xoxo <3
