Dare to Compare
It might just be human nature that sparks an unhealthy need for comparison. You know what I mean, “Keeping up with the Joneses” and “Theirs versus Mine”. One thing I can’t say enough is, Do Not compare your blog to another. I know for bloggers, especially those new to blog land, that may be hard to do. Especially if you see someone’s blog “take off” reaching heights you can only imagine.
In my blogging tips section HERE I mention that comparing your new blog to another will only set yourself up for disappointment. I am not excluded from this “dare to compare” scenario either. Yes, I have a wonderful following and I am beyond grateful! But, I can’t say for absolute certainty that I would still be blogging if I only had a few readers/subscribers. Just keeping it real my sweet bloggy friends. Thank you for being a crucial part of my online journaling.
On occasion, I must stop myself abruptly from comparing my blog to someone else’s. Especially if I see a bloggy friend take off like a bullet leaving a cloud of dust in their wake. I must remind myself that comparing my blog to theirs will only leave dirt on my face. The absolute truth is, and I mean this sincerely, I am over the moon excited when I see something wonderful happen to a blogger. Especially when they are a bloggy friend. I do get disappointed when their blog reaches the stratosphere and in doing so, I never hear from them again….
When is it okay to compare? When you are shopping of course! Let’s do some consumer comparisons that will surely be easy and no floaties are needed!

Love your notion of when it is OK to compare and agree that with shopping it perfectly acceptable. That said, I have done the other instances in the past and guilty as charged. Try not to, but still happens sometimes. Hugs and thanks for the gentle reminder here today xoxo <3
Excellent advice. It’s not a competition. We are here to share with others.
