Peacocks and Pumpkins
You know those amazing blogs with home tours straight out of the pages of House Beautiful magazine, you know the ones I mean, right? This is not one of them…giggle. Peacocks and Pumpkins is just a bit of me sharing our autumn decor. I just took quick snaps because I have something fun happening at home and it needed my full attention. I hope you don’t mind. The sun and I were playing keep away and it was winning. Our Christmas tree room is decorated with a hint of a peacock teal colors and some pretty peacock feathers too. I only added the new floral piece to the mantel everything else was already there. You can make the peacock wreath with a foam wreath ring and a whole bunch of peacock feathers and hot glue! I put peacock feathers into the blue vessel I received as a gift from a sweet friend too. I made the pretty autumn floral piece yesterday and I am happy with how it turned out.
I couldn’t find the post about chasing peacocks in a park when I was young. I was hoping one of their pretty plumes would make it into my hands ( sometimes they lose feathers when they run). Just in case you were wondering, peacocks run fast!
The new autumn mantel decor all started with this pile of crafty supplies!and then a lot of this. I always place everything and then glue it .and then it became this!and I said, “yippee” and had a ta daa moment
Every room in our home doesn’t beg to be a brochure for a bed and breakfast. But, it does beg for you to put your feet up. In case that statement misfires a bit, I want you to know, I absolutely unequivocally LOVE the blogs that do and I spend plenty of time there. Our home will always have a, ” grab a cup of, fill in the blank, warm yourself by the fire and tell me your life’s adventures kind of vibe”.
I really like adding my collection of pink LoveFeast pumpkins to our autumn decor. Sadly they are starting to get a bit raggedy and one needed stitching I won’t tell you which one., so this may be their last year. But, I used the little one on the corner table though, cute right?
Oh look here’s the 15-minute autumn vignette I shared with you. It looks nice in the kitchen. On the buffet, you can see I transferred the DIY autumn tray decor from the tray I had it in because we are using the tray. Hint, one of the Season of Giveaways is hosted by Household Wonders) .
On the dining table, I have a little tray where I share my pretty china autumn teapot and teacup and saucer set. Full disclosure, our table runner is being cleaned. It does look better with a runner.
These are some of my very favorite pieces. I won’t be selling these in the shop. But you will love all the vintage teacup sets that will be in the shop very very soon. I do sell some other teacups HERE. A trip to our local farm brought smiles when I saw they still had a few baby boos ( small white pumpkins) left. I added a couple to the kitchen windowsill and on our entertainment center too. Look there’s the large pink velvet pumpkin.
Well, my friends, that’s it, our cozy home is feeling a bit more autumn-like and I am too. Peacocks and Pumpkins, who knew they would go together. But they do ( wink).
Have a great weekend everyone!

How wonderful, thank you my friend, I’ll be there xo
Katherine, I love peacocks and the teal colors and use some in my Christmas decor, but until now I had not thought to try it with pumpkins! I love the idea! Thanks for the inspiration.

So beautiful! That pop of blue is really stunning. I love those velvet pumpkins. Each year I promise that I’ll buy myself one and I never do. I think this may be the year! Such warm and welcoming spaces:)
It’s all so beautiful! I just love the warm, inviting look of your home. I really need to get to it and do some autumn decorating!
I would have never thought to put those two colors together and you hit it out of the park! I just adore the Jim Shore angels, too! Very festive…not like a boring house tour at all;)
Aw, loved seeing your autumn decor for your home here and thanks for sharing today. Happy Saturday now, my friend xoxo <3
